For your information: I would have made ALOT more tiles If I just edited them. Heck, I just used the original 8-bit rips as a reference. I know that edits are not the way to go in a competion, and I am a man of morals & fairness.

Look at your clouds, palm trees, chests and those pipe things from the desert.

EDIT: @Nappse, sorry for not being descriptive, InsertNameHere, your pipes only have the top two rows, if you tiled it for more, it would have lines on it.

The desert tiles are edits, and that is obvious. I was looking at an older sheet when I commented on them the last time.

I do think you need to change the desert tiles a little bit, Supah-Luigi. If you look past a few minor coloring changes, the tiles are pretty much a copy-paste job.

-The leaves on my palm tree are a completely different shape. The trunk is the same shape, because I still wanted it to be proportional. It would look pretty bad if I made it thicker or thinner.
- The pipe things bear the greatest resemblance to the original sprites out of all of my desert tiles. The actual pipes & the metal blocks have the same shape, but the detail is different. The base of the pipe things is raised up a bit & the detail was done a bit differently.

Will you all stop accusing Super_Luigi of sprite theft/editing? He's clearly stated the differences between his entry and the SMB3 rips, and even provided evidence.

@Supah-Luigi's entry. It's great and all, but it just lacks some form of originality. I mean, it's like you may as well just copy and paste. I'm not saying you are copy& pasting or editting, but I feel like you just focused way too much on the reference, and out popped a new sprite with 50% of it's genes from the reference,and 50% from yourself.

Im with Soiyeruda on that one. If I had to make a game using either of those sprites, I would easily pick Supah-Luigis. They do lack a little originality though.

Anyways, the real reason for my post.
This will be my final WIP entry. After this, expect a final, final one.

Fix up the grass shading ( It's a really odd shading technique ) and fix the ? blocks. It's really good though.

The evidence he provided really only solidified the fact that they're edits. He just told us exactly what he did to edit them!

I really don't care personally, but if he is to be in compliance with the rules stated in the first post, those edits shouldn't be allowed.

Thanks. The only problem is, I just can't seem to fix that issue. I'll keep working on it though, fixing the lighting and what rot.

In the mean time, I've reorganized my sheet a little and have added a few things.

This is still a WIP. The internet's down at my house until tomorrow, so I couldn't post this earlier and I'm on a friend's computer right now.
I fixed the bricks and pipes (sorry you had to see the old ones sad.gif), and added more tiles.

Doesn't cut it. Sorry, but I can see that the shape of the pipe is identical to the original, and you obviously only messed with the leaves to avoid being called on your edit.

Disqualified until you can make your own work.

Pucifur's tileset is one of my favorites entries so far. Unique style, vibrant colors and very useful for fangames.
