Game Maker and Multimedia Fusion can both do amazing things, but some things always hit me over;
Unless I'm mistaken, Game Maker loads external resources multiple times over and over again instead of caching them (or something like that.. can't remember how it was exactly, so don't count on this 100%). This causes heavy lag if you're using Game Maker to something else than Game Development (read: Game Maker is for making games, whereas Multimedia Fusion is aimed towards uh, kind anything)
A prime example is that one dude who was developing a NES Fester's Quest editor but everyone hated it because of the lagfest.

EDIT: I use MMF whenever I get the chance. I've tried GM too, didn't like it too much but I can see where you're going.

I think Game Maker is pretty simple to understand once you get used to it.
That, and it doesn't expire in 30 days.

But I would never want to use an engine somebody else made. Sure, maybe to get a few ideas on how to do some things. But I would never just use the engine, throw in a few levels, then call it my game. Deep down I would know it isn't really mine.

MFGG should stop accepting games made with them unless they actually added new features.

1- $

Why? Game maker it's free if you don't want to have any super magical special effects, but it costs low, and MF does cost a lot and they have 30 day limit... well IMO.

2- MF is extremely confusing for me, and it does cost $$$$$

3- MF costs a lot.

But someday I might use it.

Those are some great reasons.

I feel like I'm the only one here who actually dropped $130 on a legal copy of MMF2?
It comes with about a 200 page manual and a pretty cool 2nd disc with lots of stuff.

Firstly, what the **** is this "MF" you keep talking about? Well, I'll assume it means MMF2.

1. Yeah, you sort of have a point here. I'll bet there exists no such thing as "torrents" or "warez".

2. And GM is extremely confusing to me. And you already said this goddamn money thing.

3. So yeah. You say "it costs a lot" 3 times. Wow, your debating skills are SO l33t.

You say that "it's confusing to me" and that "it's expensive" 3 times and then you just quickly say "maybe I'll use it someday"? Lol ok whatever.

200 pages?!?! But aren't we able to ALSO download the manual from Clickteam's website as well?

Still, that is seriously a HUGE manual! o_O

At the time I could only afford MMF2 Standard. Hopefully I'll be able to upgrade to Developer.

EDIT: Also you can get a discount if you bought one of their older products (I got $30 off MMF2 Standard because I bought TGF Home Edition years ago)

Honestly, look at most of the mario games on MFGG made with Game Maker.
