Valve programs for PC. EA ports to 360.

Valve does not port anything, ever, from the 360--hence the dev console, the custom controls, the custom content, and all that good stuff--all for PC.

360 is the more popular platform, and is easier to showcase (the gameplay videos are from shows)

and the demo went to 360 first because it's more difficult to patch up 360 bugs, it's once again the more popular platform, and the 360 preorder cost more ($60.00 with no preorder discount.)

Obvious my ass.

Obvious my kukupo.

You know the demo went to 360 first for that reason... how? They got it earlier than they were supposed to even, bro.

Also given the fact that they were "fixing" things and did pretty much non-stop testing from the moment that the demo was originally SUPPOSED to be released on the PC until the moment it actually GOT released, people come to the conclusion that they ported the 360 version over, quickly, because there was something wrong with the PC version.

Kinda hard to prove otherwise, since it'd be pretty easy to put the PC features back in, and either way the demo would end up playing the same anyway.

when did this happen? I know that EA publishes the ports, but last I checked the only one they worked on was the PS3 port of the Orange Box

there's a lot of incorrect information itt regarding the xbox 360.

The Source engine natively supports 360 and also Playstation 3. This was an intentional design by Valve so they could sell Half-Life 2 on both the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. For every of these consoles it needs to bind specific input to a specific command much like in the Options where you set the keyboard layout. That, and few shader, texture and screen configurations are the only things Valve made specifically for the xbox. The Source engine is designed for the PC, but supports multiple platforms. After The Orange Box, Valve broke support for the PS3 in their engines due to 'complications with Sony', both in regard to updating their games, but also updating the engine.

tl;dr: The reason why you see Xbox stuff is because xbox support is natively build into the game and they may have forgot to disable some xbox-specific features for PC and possibly the other way around.

also by moving some files from l4d to l4d2 I managed to spawn the original survivors haha

thats probably what the guy did to fake those screenshots too

I think the demo coming out on time on the XBox was probably Microsoft's refusal to wait for a newer build. Supposedly the Xbox demo is more bugged (initially anyway) than the PC version as a result. You've also got the added ease then the Xbox community suffers from a lot less hardware variation than the PC community. Its not hard to imagine there being a show stopping bug for some users with a particulat hardware set.
