It's not that I hate sharing, it's just that I don't want something like this to happen again. Plus with all the other problems I've been having, I don't need this to add to the pile.

I've forbidden my mother from going on the computer from now on.

Sure sounds like you do, bro.

So then, if you don't want this sort of thing to happen again, why don't you teach your mother some of the basics of the computer or help her when she's using it? Banning her isn't going to work, because it's technically her computer -- she bought it. You can tell her your concern, though, and I'm sure she'll understand if you present the situation cordially and offer to, say, turn the computer on for her when she needs it and log her on to whatever browser she uses.

You can also establish "ground rules for the safety of the computer," but you can't just make rules for her just because you don't want her on your computer. It's not yours; it's hers.

It's tough to talk to someone who's probably had a better life than I.

In all seriousness.

She's bad with technology. She managed to shut off the cable on our TV about 10 times in the past. Also, she's okay with it.

So? my mom screws up the cable on our TV, occasionally. Yet, you don't see me banning my own mom from the TV.

cause that's retarded

Even if your life is full of painful memories and sorrow, wallowing in them and keeping your life stagnant and static by reverting all your social life to the form of internet relations and chats doesn't help at all.

If your life is really so bad, you should be focusing more on making newer, better memories and therapeutic relationships with people you can touch and hear.

This is not the place be if you're as mentally scarred as you present yourself to be. A sedentary, quiet lifestyle will only perpetuate your misery.

QUOTE (Go Buy Melons @ Nov 10 2008, 08:15 PM)
So your mother bought a computer for the family. She broke it, tried to fix it, but couldn't unfortunately. You found out and had a *****fest which you also dragged onto the internet to get more attention on yourself.

When someone managed to fix it, you then 'banned' your mother from using something that SHE bought

Crap! This computer doesn't work right for me!

I keep pressing ESC but no matter how many times I press it reality won't go away!  unsure.gif

QUOTE (Turndawg107 @ Nov 10 2008, 12:40 AM)
So now a jammed power button that is easily fixable is worthy of full-fledged rage and confessions of the internet being your sole reason to live.

QUOTE (Mr. Aforcer @ Nov 10 2008, 06:23 AM)
Just like my mom. Always using the computer for her e-mail when I leave it alone. Stupid pointless e-mail. Messing things up.

QUOTE (Knight Nappse @ Nov 10 2008, 06:32 AM)
That's the worse thing that could happen man, the very worst!

QUOTE (Go Buy Melons @ Nov 10 2008, 08:05 AM)
Because when I want to escape the horrible horrible parts of reality like having friends

and a girlfriend

and an awesome family

i go to the internet!!!

i mean i don't see who could possibly put up with those for the rest of their life do you!!!!!!?

Wow, THIS is depressing: how many people think they MUST make soul-crushing sarcastic posts.
