This is a small project I've been working on for a small amount of time. Its a remake of the minigame from Super Princess Peach, with some more features. Toad Jump DX is set to have more levels, the ability to use items, more playable characters, and even VS and Duel mode, as well as a main Grand Prix mode.

UPDATE - 11/26/08: HUD Update, Bill Blaster Item confirmed.
UPDATE - 11/16/08: Single player preview, 3 items confirmed (Mushroom, Koopa Shell, and Fire Flower), and an updated HUD.
UPDATE - 11/12/08: Toadette confirmed as a character, but not yet playable.

The controls are pretty simple: Shift to jump, left/right to accelerate/decelerate, space to restart, and 1/2/3 to to go to the single player/VS/Duel room.

I like it so far!
There was this one weird bug, though. In the VS. room, near the end of the level on that big hill, I jumped. When I landed, I died.

EDIT:
It seems like it does it on every hill. I took a screenshot.

Oh, I found the problem. It had something to do with the "running into a wall and dying" method. And thanks!

Toadette, yes! I'm liking it.

Two things:
1. Toadette sort of hovers near the finish line, by the hanging wooden platforms.
2. Weird sound glitch. I died, and the music froze in the Duel room versus Toadette on one single note. Even when I switched to different rooms, it still kept playing that one note, along with the other music in the different room. The frozen note stopped playing after a while, though.

1) Hmm... Ill see if can fix that.
2) That music track is only temporary, and since I have a music composer, I can probably fix that... or change the track altogether.

But thanks for finding these glitches!

Updated with some screens, no engine test though.

Could you please use Z for jumping? Sticky keys shows up in the middle of the game. =(

And no variable jumping? =(

And sorry for the bump. No major stuff this week, but here are some screens of what I'm working on for the demo.

A new item: the Bill Blaster. The Bill Blaster creates infinite Bullet Bills from all sides of the screen, hitting all enemies and CPU players against you.

The HUD has also been tweaked, now it shows the level's name in single-player mode.

I'll probably try to get a new engine test up soon. In the meantime, I'm taking suggestions for playable characters and stages.
