No. From my time here on Mfgg it is generally already incredibly hard to be permabanned. You are given numerous chances to get your act together and it bothers me that it takes a permanent ban for somebody "change".

I suppose you guys can make the system more concrete or whatever, doesn't matter to me >_>, but I'd have to disagree with giving people even more chances than they already have.

I gotta agree here. How many members have been permanently banned? 5? Maybe a couple more?

Then think about how many NOT perma-banned members we have that actively post(ed). Yeah they sometimes get warned, but they usually shape up after some time. Perma-banned people are booted for a reason (Or in Mecha's case, a misunderstanding, I believe?), and for the most part just head elsewhere anyways.

This. Hell, even people who requested permas got back. And/or people who've made NUMEROUS dupes. So why shouldn't Zash come back with only having a FEW, well behaved dupes and one suspension?

It's funny how people don't realize that you can change the number of posts shown per page.

Considering that I do indeed know that I can change the number of posts per page and just prefer having 20 posts per page for various reasons, and said "first page" because it's the default option and most members probably left it like that as well, I'm going to assume your comment wasn't directed at me.

Question about the topic: Is 2nd chance prop. basically just asking for a formalized version of what Mfgg already has?

I do agree that Zash is receiving unfair treatment.

Even Biddy got a second chance.

We abandoned the warning system in like .. 2005, for a variety of reasons.

anywho @xgoff, yeah living with him has this constant. "I've got it Mike, I know how I'm gonna get unbanned! it's brilliant" thing... so I'm just tryin to help a brutha out.

but Mechabowser was perma'd for black-mailing AND linking to lemonparty.org in his sig with a false context that it was a safe site.

Both kinda did bad things... but MB got to come back by popular vote much like this policy would introduce!

Why? Was it being exploited, or was it just not enough?

eh... maybe now with a forum access at stake it might work.
But I mean we had people just plain flaming people knowing they're only getting a warning.

One of the reasons was that people that still had 2 or 3 hearts would provoke members that had only 1, to get them banned -lol-
kind of "It's okay if I do something really stupid I still have 2 more chances :>"

Well, whichever way MFGG go after this *topic, I still don't think we'll even be close to get all those awesome things we had three years ago, even if we bring back all those awesome member. But, yeah, I guess we should at least have faith.
