We all love art, whether it be drawing, spriting, making music or writing suicide notes. But...the real question is: how much have you improved?

For me, well...haha, I don't honestly know how I could say I haven't improved. You be the judge:

Tri '05user posted image vs. Tri '08/09user posted image

And do you feel MFGG has helped you improve at all? I found that when I joined the community I took a steep interest in games like MegaMan and other forms of media like anime, whose styles appealed much to me and thus inspired and added (even if just a bit) to what my style is today. Not sure if that has any bearing on the community itself at all but I know that there were once on this board great artists like FuPoo and Kitsune, and general sources of inspiration like Wheeljerk/Sasuke/TurboMan (who continues to inspire me EVEN TODAY I LOVE YOU WHEELJERK) and Press Start. It's a bunch thanks to these people I've become the greatly motivated artist I am today. (I woulda said Guinea but he inspired and helped me more on Game Making which as you may guess has little bearing on my artistic skill)

Woah that was a mouthful. ANYWAY, post your thoughts on yourself and don't forget this is the Arts Board where inspiration and motivation are valued over quality AND quantity, so express yourself as freely as you may! laugh.gif

Now I don't:

And that's really cool because everyone draws anime nowadays.

mfgg hasn't helped me improve at all

so yeah pretty much all of my improvement came from doodling random **** while i was bored, since i generally know what's wrong with my art anyway

EDIT: if you've never seen my art from 2004-2005 you'll just have to pretend i've improved because it'd take HOURS for me to dig it up off my trashed drive

I don't think it's limited to artistic skills alone. MFGG was a springboard for interaction that's given me insight to people in general. I can handle personalities and situations much better. I feel a lot smarter than when I first joined. :I

As for art, I never post anything anymore so I dunno %D. And rarely ever a game.

oh god Rage i remember that Amy picture and i still like it

Also, MFGG didn't help me improve at ALL, since I was the only musician for a while. Though after a little while I had this one guy give me good critique, and it sounded like he knew what he was talking about.

as for reference of 2001 - 2008, that's going to be difficult with music, since i still think one of my first songs, Ready GO! is still fantastic and i wish i could capture what it has already

I'm not much of an artist but when it comes down to it I'm pretty much self-taught (same goes for programming)

I'd post some artwork but I'm really really lazy atm and don't feel like going through my computer/room in search of them

self-taught is great, as long as you get good material to learn from

and also just messing around with things and seeing how they function

I could say I've really improved.

Some of my latest drawings at the time. Some of you may remember me posting these the first time I came here. Come to think of it, MFGG's lack of interest is what made me abandon the series.

Some of the best drawings I've done in iScribble, all from this year. It's definately an improvement even from when I started iScribble in February.

I can't really say MFGG had any impact on my improvement, though. Just sorta a place to show my stuff.

These are just pictures I have on my computer. I'd rather not waste time showing the random stuff I draw on paper and don't scan.

Let the "OH DON'T BE SILLY SOY! YOU DREW LIKE **** BEFORE AND YOU STILL DRAW LIKE **** NOW!" commence. This isn't a sarcastic comment. I seriously believe this is what the "uber-gods" of art around MFGG probably think. Considering the comments I've been getting lately....

Hello, I don't remember this?

That......of course you don't! I actually put it in your birthday topic, but you probably skipped over it.

I intended to color it for that christmas thingy, but I gave up on that because my artistic skills apperently tell everyone "I'm not trying to improve".

So....here it is, waiting to be told "THAT'S A HORRIBLE DRAWING!" (^-^)

Did you? I'm sorry; I was gone a lot of that weekend, and much of the thread kind of slipped by without my reading it, much to my dismay. Thank you, though, it's quite cute; I appreciate it a lot.

Aww... that's a shame, but if you don't want to colour it, I'm not in any place to tell you too.

Naw, actually, I really like this one in particular (though I could be biased towards it and probably am). And you have improved somewhat, and I'm sure if you continued practicing you'd only get better! I mean, we all need to practice!
