I'm more inclined to place fangame creation in front of homework, and if I'm able to type my homework, it makes life a whole lot easier. I have some tips to free up your schedule.
1) Use lunchtime for homework. If you have friends you normally talk to, than this is a problem. I enjoyed this method because in my old school, my lunch period was like an hour long (^-^) 2) If you have some form of study hall, then use that to finish homework. I'm sure you would though. 3) Do assignments ahead of time if your teacher gives assignments for a week's course. Like if you have homework you don't need to start on until tomorrow, then do that as well. 4) Don't waste vacation! (^-^) 5) In the curfew case, yeah. Just continue staying up if you want to work on it. Laptops make life easier, but I hate how I have to use the built in mouse. Makes my hand feel oily. I have the same curfew as you (mother thinks I'll get too tired, even though on the weekends, I typically get five hours of sleep and go through my day just great. 6) Use your alarm clock to wake up early. If it beeps, immediately turn it off so no one else can hear it. I have a problem with this because I was to rest some more, so I just turn it off and end up sleeping longer......so yeah. GAMBLE!
I'm sure your parents have some reason behind a curfew, unless they really are just randomly deciding "LET'S GIVE SON CURFEW FOR HECK OF IT", then provide a reason why you would like no curfew/later curfew. I'd love to do this myself, but then it's called "backtalk" (-_-)

Curfew in the sense you have to be in bed by that time, or in the sense you have to be at home at that time?
Also I hate arguments like "It's unfair that I have to sleep/be somewhere/do something at X o'clock, because that's the time I usually do homework/am actually responsible." You guys seem to think the world is tailored to running by your schedule. Spoilers: if you're not a morning person, your job/classes aren't going to arbitrarily start later. Just for you. Ever. The world does not revolve around one person, and if it did, it would certainly not be you. It'd probably be some person like Bill Gates or the president or something, unfortunately.
I understand being frustrated by it, but it's not like when you grow up you get to make your own schedule. In fact, I bet by the time you get into college or get a job, you'll be wishing you could have to sleep at 9 PM every night -- you'll be wishing it was a mandatory bedtime, so you'd have an excuse to go to sleep.
tl;dr, yeah, it sucks, but that's how life will always be. Things are never going to adhere to how you're body works (i.e. "I can only do homework at 9:00"), so you'd be better off changing your "biological clock" so to speak while that's still easy to do.

College starts when you're 16 in Britain?
| QUOTE | | too lazy to even try to drop me off at college when she's off (my father does) |
Aren't you old enough to drive yourself?
| QUOTE | | never offers me/asks me if i need anything from the shop (Again, father does) |
Again, driving. Also (assuming she's buying staples such as food, drinks, etc.) shouldn't you be buying personal "accessories" (i.e. games, things only you want/need, books, etc.) yourself, anyways? It's not her responsibility.
| QUOTE | | Doesn't talk to me. (... father does) |
Parents are there to parent you -- not to be your best friend.
| QUOTE | | The only real thing she does is put a roof over my head. |
You mean you have to pay for electricity? And internet? And water and gas? And file taxes?
Or does she do those things too and you're just not recognizing it?
| QUOTE | | Another thing i do that so many people do is Procrastinate, and it's a *****... i need to do things ASAP more often. |
Procrastination is a choice, and consequences come with choices you make. If you don't start your homework 'til 9:00, then the only person to blame is yourself and your own irresponsibility.

| QUOTE (rtsmarty @ Nov 25 2008, 07:25 PM) | Yes. I think that's changing soon though. Mandatory schooling up to 18.
No. You can start driving when you're 17. I think you can get a provisional license at 16 (I'm not too sure here) but you can only drive when someone else that can drive is in the car with you (and sober, etc) so he may as well just have his dad drop him off. |
College isn't mandatory, last I checked. I thought secondary schooling (high school, in America) was the last mandatory level of education you needed? And that usually lasts up until age 17-19 (depending on when you started school or if you skipped).
