My parents don't care what I do on the internet.

...Well they care. They constantly ask what I'm doing. And I always respond with vague responses like "Not much" or "nothing". But they never take it beyond that.


I think your parents are going a bit far asking for your passwords.

my dad would do this all the time except he DID take it further and this pisses me off to no end

No seriously though that's lame. Talk to them seriously about it and explain to them why what they're doing is wrong and why overprotective parenting with a 17-year-old person in regards of their internet usage is dumb

It pretty much sucks that they have all your passwords and such. BUt how do they know you talk to people from forums or go on em? I mean if your tellin em and stuff they shuold be concerned but they should trust your judgement to.

Controlling every single thing your kid does to "protect them from the world" only results in him/her failing miserably once it is time to grow up, people

I hate it when parents think that you can't be trusted while browsing the internet because "every single page is crawling with viruses and ads that'll destroy your computer, rapists, stalkers, kidnappers, and people who will do everything in their mind to destroy you."

I'm really glad my parents aren't like that. They're both very good with computers, (More so my Dad, but he's been working with them for years) and they trust I won't do anything stupid online.

The reson is if your going through Puberty now then the are just worried about you messing up your life right now because your hormones are at a all time high. Its normal for parents to act like this also if you are a only child or the first child they will act like this even more so.

Man, I know how you feel.

My parents haven't done anything that drastic, but my mother yells at me if I play any online games because her work had a meeting saying that games are how hackers get into your computer. So even if the game is hosted my some company like Jagex(say I play Runescape, even though I haven't played in almost a year).
