My parents are too scared to try somthing like that. I'm the most technologically dominant in the family. And they also trust me.

It happens like daily in the U.S.

Then I guess I don't pay attention, because I never see stories about it. It's really funny though on some of the videos I've watched about Internet predators (^-^)

Make sure no one tell his mom about Super Mario Galaxy's "U R MR Gay" thing. If she knew about that. I bet she would ban her kids from playing Mario games ever again.

Excuse me? What?

Please people, explain to them that keeping you from things like this can cause mental trauma in later life if you have not learnt first hand about these things earlier.

And posting your face and address on the internet does NOT attract pedophiles. It would take more effort to hunt you down like that than to just pull a kid off the street and rape them, so it's actually safer than taking a walk.

Finally, violence on TV and in games does NOT encourage violence in real life, it actually helps you be ready for if it does happen in real life.

Shout any of that back in their face to shut them the bloody hell up.

I don't really think it's a good idea to post one's address online. Pedophiles may not always be indiscriminate about what kids to go after, and an address can actually be useful to them.

However, names, ages, and appearances are pretty much useless for tracking-down purposes, as long as nothing more is given out (except probably for something really general like "I live in western [state]").

Better safe than sorry. Besides, I highly doubt people on the internet want to see my face anyway.

I've put my address and pictures on the net for years.

I've gotten mail from people I met through the net, and met upwards of 12 people through the internet in places as far away as Missouri (I live near Detroit btw)

No rapists for me though.

See parents are scared because the news sensationalizes this stuff. Generally on the news they make it out to be that everyone your child talks to on the net is going to kill them when frankly it's usually extreme cases where a kid gives out all his information to a "friend" he made online that very same day.

Besides, we're all safe now. We have this man to protect us

Even if it meant a hacker as in "a person who breaks into computers and ****s them up", I believe they can't **** up your computer with games.

Anyone who still thinks Pokemon = the Devil ought to be ashamed of themselves.

It was my church that got me out of Pokemon and to this day, I still regret it because I could've still been into the series while it was still good.
