Oldest fan game in existance., I wonder what it is..

Does anybody know what the oldest fan game was?

It probably is. But yeah, there must have been fangames before this one. Like, text adventures or something.

I wish I could play it but it says my system doesn't support fullscreen. And it does. 0_o

It depends what you class as a fangame, since there was probably a number of fan-ports of Donkey Kong and Mario Bros. back in the day. And we can't forget the pirates.

"Sonic Boom" is widely considered to be the first Sonic fangame ever in regards to the "modern" generation. That one was made in 1998 with Klik 'n' Play. It's certainly the most widely accepted "first" Sonic fangame, though Klik 'n' Play came out in 96, so there's a chance there were some before that. Mario Fangames followed later.

Funny how much better Mario & Luigi PC still is compared to a lot of the crap you see now.

And the bloke gave himself a file limit too

I think it's 48k, or it might be 128k. Either way if there wasn't a limit, who knows what it could have become.

god I can't run it either. Gives me some Nvidia error.

Also DOSBox is too complicated I demand easy methods.

Dragging an .exe over a DOSBox shortcut seems pretty easy to me
