okay, I've recently been playing through banjo kazooie nuts and bolts (I bought it)

it's a fun game, and it has some great elements too it

but it's not banjo


the game seems to taunt me, I don't get it

why did rare decide to go with vehicular-based gameplay?

why?

it doesn't fit into banjo at all, and it feels extremely alienating to the fans of the originals

as I was playing, I kept wanting to jump out of my vehicle and start talon trotting, I kept wanting to explore the levels on foot, but banjo is so slow it's extremely inconvenient, and kazooie is stripped of her powers, which also doesn't make any sense

the game had so much potential as a platformer, and I feel stupid for giving rare so much support for this game

when I get a banjo game, I expect banjo, not a racing game with collectable attributes


the game is fun, don't get me wrong, but I seriously can't play through it without imagining how cool nutty acres would've been if it had been built for platforming elements instead of vehicular-based elements

I can't enjoy banjoland because it's nothing like banjo, it's a bunch of fake lifeless parts that hardly resemble the original games, heck, clanker doesn't even talk


needless to say, I find it dissapointing that rare has done this to possibly the greatest videogame franchise ever created

it makes me sad D:


discuss how much you miss old banjo/discuss how much you loved the game/troll me for hating on the game so much even though I admitted that it's actually quite fun

I agree, Razz. Last time I checked, the saying was "If you have a working formula, stick with it", not "If you have a working formula, **** it up so bad your fans will hate you forever; bury that great formula deep, and never bring it up again". Unfortunately, N&B is the latter.

I always felt this from the start, and honestly it's why I haven't bought or asked for the game. If it ain't broken, don't fix it. I played the demo and it wasn't a bad concept, it just wasn't Banjo Kazooie. I understand what they're trying to do, I honestly do. But I just don't see WHY they did it.

I played new Banjo it made me wanna cry. It looked kinda neat and it is fun. But honestly when I play Banjo I expect the "GUHUH, BREE, EEKOM BOKUM" talking characters going off on a platforming battle against Grunty. Not a racing game, or a "I"M A DRIVIN MAH AUTO MOBILE ALL OVER DA LAND! AND COLLECTIN STUFF!" Drivin a car around is not platforming i'm sorry.

I'd rather have a rehash of a great game

than a game that doesn't resemble it's original at all


personally I would've been happy if they kept bk:nab the same old rehash of banjo kazooie, instead of ****ing with an amazing gameplay style in hopes of making more money and broadening their audience

I like the game, but what made me angery was the fact that they constantly point out the changes that fans didn't like, like they were trying to get on fans nerves.

Grunty pointing out Banjo's square nose and kazooie whinning about her loss of moves.

They were trying to keep it fresh but I agree that they shouldn't have fixed what wasn't broken. I don't have the game myself and haven't played it, so I can't judge it blah blah blah

Kind of like beating a dead horse by now but you have to admit it isn't the sequel everyone had in mind.

They could have taken this vehicle idea and made a different franchise out of it instead of applying it to banjo.

To be honest, I think they should have taken a Sonic Unleashed style to it, by which I mean, split the gameplay. Half traditional, half can be something new.

Tbh, I've found ways to beat missions as normal banjo, after maxing out my stats that is.

I thought they WERE going to make it a normal game, but since the worlds were just too big, they had to add vehicles, and then they decided that the gameplay would just focus around that.
