Join now, as soon as enough people show up, we'll start.


First of all I apologize for seemingly disappearing after the NCFC, but that was when my first university semester started and so I couldn't do much for it.
Also, I thought it would be a good idea for you guys to relax for some time after we've hasted to get stuff ready for the NCFC.


Let's do a quick resumé of the project so far:
-> we have a solid engine
-> we have won an MFGG AWARD 2008 for the best graphics in a fangame
-> we have set up an NCFC booth


So, who of you guys is up for getting life into this again?

So let's continue!
The last thing we left with was the discussion of the world map setup.
For this, I had planned a direct conversation with the staff on the IRC chat, as usual when we have something big to discuss.
The World Map layout will determine a load of our spriters' work, so I want that to be settled soon.

My suggestions are to either do this on Saturday or on Sunday in the afternoon (American timezones).

Please take this occasion to notify us of your existance so we can continue the work on this project.
If you have not helped on the CFP before, but would like to do that now, you're free to join.


I hope to meet you guys in the IRC on the weekend!

PS: Questions are also welcome.

I'd like to help, but I'm not a very good spriter. I can program some simple stuff, and I consider myself a pretty good drawing artist. But that's all. smile.gif

Our engine is designed so people with low programming skill in GM can also help by using existing things to create new enemies and such.

As for drawing: Concept Art is always welcome.

I've thought about importing some NSM3 levels into this game. It would be big shame if all those +50 levels go to waste (yes, this means that NSM3 is canned).

Yeah, why not. When we finally go to level design, we'll gladly take your levels, as long as you modify them so they match with the rest of the game.

I prefer spriters, tbh, unless you're really good in coding or are ok with being limited to not coding things, but putting existing code together.
We have a system with which you can create enemies and other objects by simply copy-pasting existing objects and editing the creation-event.
So if you're ok with that or are a GM master, then you can help with the engine. But no free-form coding otherwise.

Ok, so the majority of people seems to be for Saturday.
Stay tuned, I will be on in the night (which is the afternoon for you american guys). I will not go and set up a certain date for this, instead I'll do it like last time and just gather anyone who is around at a certain time and invite them personally.

I hope you're ok with that, because last time I tried to have a set date, but nobody came until 2 hours later.

I'll try for some programming/spriting if you can make some expansions to the engine.
