'the collector' is a oooold game I made a long time ago using a pre-made engine -- it was the first game I've ever made, and as such, it's held a special place in my heart
if you're interested in trying out the original go
here (warning: my posting style back then was stupid and I feel retarded for line-breaking like that lol)
I'm planning on remaking it completely from the ground up, it'll be a total blast and a walk down memory lane for me, so I can't wait to see what comes out of this project
anyway, here's the lowdown of what I'm planning on doing:
- I'm remaking it with a new graphical style (sprites are 32*32 with abstract design)
- I'm working on completely redoing the islands graphically and level-design wise
- I'm working on adding four new islands (might add more if I get carried away)
- working on designing a new variety of enemies
- new traps will be added
- new ways to collect rings (or 'stions' as they're called) will be added
- different attacks 'may' be added in
- I've been thinking of redoing the storyline
- an interactive intro sequence (ie, you're actually there watching the diamond destroy the sun, ect.)
- bosses
and more
anyway I'll keep this topic updated as I get deeper into game design, but for now I don't really have anything else to show you, I'm still working on the graphics and I haven't even started programming yet
a side note: this game will use the 'Mario Memories' engine that I love using so much :3
