Skins, We Need Some New Ones!

Why contest? If you make a skin and submit it it always gets accepted! It just takes quite a while.

Idea: Mod, make a skin for 1st April.

There have been many skins for that date, you know.

Not if it's crappily made.

I'm not aware of any skins that people actually finished which were crappy, though, which is why they probably were all accepted.

I did see some crappy-looking beginnings of skins posted on the forums before (though I don't remember much about them), but they weren't finished anyway.

I agree with what most people are saying here. We need new skins with less bright colors and more themes.

We need a "minimalist skin", with no defined colors or fonts in CSS, no icons, no banner, etc. If I knew how to make skin files Invision Power Board then I might do it, but I can't. An example: http://zzo38computer.cjb.net/example/minimalist.htm

We need a wii skin, very simple white menu, with rounded boxes, and a nice font. And 8-bit Super Mario Sprites for icons.

The lazy part is where it says "(And so on for the rest of the messages. This example doesn't have all the messages)" but other than that it is good

"Minimalist" and "crappy" are two entirely different things.

Can you be more specific to explain what you don't like about it, if it is possible to be more specific? I think it is good skin (except that it isn't packaged correctly), but call it "Lazy" or "Bland" or "Old-style" or "Minimalist" or "Non-CSS" or "Crap" or "Ultra-low Bandwidth" or whatever you want to call it, but I think is good.

Another way it could be done would be to send the data to the client as XML format and allow the user to provide the URL to the XSLT file.

Is having a wide variety of skins that big of a deal? If there isn't a skin you'd like to have, then make it yourself. Don't know how? I think there's a topic scattered in the Help Forum somewhere. And I'm sure a site or two will tell you how.

How about a skin made with black backgrounds and text? It should shut up those "SKINS ARE TOO BRIGHT" people.

why not someone come up with a code for Stylish? so we can all just copy that and change out the images ourselves?
