I always seem to miss these.

probably because they've been in the Arts Board for the past 10 competitions

I vote for embedding them on the website with HTML. Or at least a link to YouTube. The obvious reason as to why people don't vote in these is because they can't be arsed to download them.

But anyway, I'll vote in this one.

unfortunately if you enable them, that allows others to do their embed crap as well in their signatures and other lovely stuff that slows down page loading incredibly for people with lousy connections

I dunno if that'd work or not, but that's the code for background music, just edited a little so that it will hopefully come up with that grey bar that you click on to play. I haven't tested so, who knows.

NICKtendo DS has the right idea. I certainly think that it's up to the artist to go the extra mile, as opposed to the people judging the songs to d/l them all.

Anyway, all of these songs are pretty good. I just think that it's a shame that people don't listen to them just because they don't want to download them, and I'm sure people could agree on a method of uploading so that people don't have to spend the time to download the songs.

See, that's not an issue for me, I can definitely do that, and hell, I could set up a webpage on my server to have the entries streaming, because of that fact - I have a server to do so.


Unfortunately, other people don't have such an advantage, and are limited to using hosting sites that require you to visit the URL and having to download the song.

I think that the competition should be put in the GC now, as opposed to waiting for it to get more popular, because I'd imagine that more people would vote in it because generally people view the GC more than the Arts board.

It wouldn't hurt to try.

yes guys thank you for paying attention to the sentence i said in my first post and my second post

for firefox users there's a plugin/add-on that is like a mini-player
it also identifies if there's any links to mp3s and lets you play them directly from the internet, no downloading

I'm just saying that I thought it was a bad idea waiting for the music competition to get more attention, then putting it in the GC, as opposed to putting it in the GC in the first place, thus getting more attention anyway.

The Music Competition was in the Arts Board initially, because at the time, there were way too many stickies in the GC (about 8 or 9 of them, almost half the topics on one page), and it was just a small idea pitched by AppleQueso at first. They just continued being in the Arts Board, staying as a nice small competition. It wasn't until recent that they started getting more popular, and it hasn't been until within the past 3 months that the GC has had enough minuscule amount of sticky topics to put it in there.


But obviously I can't just suddenly say "FINAL VOTING" in the GC, which is why, as I've stated already previously, the next competition topic will be going into the GC.

how about a competition sticky containing links to all the latest competitions and links to the vault topics of the previous?

no it's going in the GC, it's going to stay in the GC, and that is not going to change


also that would evade more attention to all competitions
