I am currently working on a Luigi turnbased RPG.

Here is a new test engine.
The new features are...
1. Overworld - You can jump and move around here and when you touch an enemie you go into a battle. I am currently debating if I should add a acceleraction system to the game. Also am debating first strikes. Why? Because what would happen if you jumped on an enemie and don't have a jump attack equipted(equpiment system not started yet).
2. Defend action command for partner now. But the action commands need some more work.
3. When you hit an enemie it will ramdomly pick a groug of enemies, depending on which enmeie you hit.
4. The speed has been increased.
5. Goombas now jump to attack.
6. Abilty for Luigi and partner to die.
7. And glitch fixes and improvements to the engine(which you won't notice).

Controls:
Overworld
Left and right arrows to move left and right
X button to jump
Battle
Left and right arrows to select enemie
X button to attack selected enemie
Enter button to do action commands(before you hit the enemie to double your attack and just before the enemie touches you to guard)

Another battle room screen and it shows the item menu, but I am going to change the font for the words.

Note: This video shows a couple new things. Delt Damage is shown and it shows the move menu, but right now the attack part is the only one that works. Also you can see a glitch, the one below, in this video.

Glitches
There is a glitch with the goombas sprite. For some reason the mouth part of the sprite gets bigger. Why? I have no clue. Maybe its my computer. I don't know.

You could add critical hits, misses and such.

Why do the enemies attack the Green Goomba most of the time?

I could add misses, but I don't know about criticals hits and it is random which person the enemies attack.

Also do you think I should continue with this game?

Whoa take it easy, Roo.

Ronin180, whenever you want to continue it is your decition entirely. If you like the way it's going, then I'll definitely support that you move on with it. If you don't like it, then there's no reason to move on now is there?

The engine is good, you've got the base down. Maybe speed it up a tad because it gets quite boring after a while. The enemies should probably also have the same attack as the green Goomba, because they're all Goombas so it wouldn't make sense if they had different attacks. Good engine though, hope you won't cancel it, because that's the problem with fangames recently. Show off either horrible or decent stuff, then cancel it where a horrible game could've turned out alright if finished.

Anyways, it seems pretty good. Now add some SFX, the ability to avoid Enemy Attacks, and the Ability to Counter-Attack like in MLSS, and this'll be pretty good.

Thanks guys, I will continue this game.
I have the speed of the player and partner faster and will make the enemies faster.
As for avoiding and countering attack, I don't think I will add that. I want the game to be more like Paper Mario and Mario RPG. Not like Super Star Saga and Partners In Time. But if alot of people request it I will consider doing it.
The goombas will have the jumping attack also.
I am currently making the amount of enemies in the battle random.
Also should I make the enemies attack Luigi more often then your partner?

And on more thing. Is there any other Mario RPG turnbased games, made or being made? I want to play one.

Hmm, this game has a good beta engine, but you need to do some things
1. Make the enemy be able to miss, and if not that you should make something like if you press Z right before an enemy hits you, it deals less damage. This was done in Paper Mario
2. Make the enemies have at least 2 attacks.
3. Make you be able to do combos
4. Make less enemies in the room.

Pretty good aside from that, but you should probably change the graphics and the speed of the room. The name is a little misleading. I thought you were going to make it have SMRPG graphics. I would like to see more of this!

1. I have plans to add an accessory and weapons system, but I have not started that yet, no garenties. So missing sometimes could be a accessory.
And you can press a button to deal more damage and defend. Its the enter button, except for defending with the partner. That is not in the test, but I have it done, so it will be in the next test.
2. Some enemies will have more then 1 attack, but what other attack could a goomba have?
3. What do you mean by combos?
4. This is only a test showing that the engine supports 5 enemies. Not all battles will have 5 enmies, some could even have 1.
And that last part
The name is not finale, I might keep it or not, Luigi and partner are going to be faster, and that will be the final sprites for Luigi, maybe not everything else.

I don't think I am going to be adding dodge and countering to this game. I want the game to be like Paper Mario/Mario RPG and of course I am going to add the ability to die. Actualy I have that done for luigi. Now I just have to do it for the partner.

Some other stuff I have done are....
1. Outside of battle. You can jump around and when you hit a enemie you will go into the battle and depending which enemie you hit, it will randomly pick the amout of enemies to battle.(going to add first strikes)
2. Goombas now jump to attack.
3. Enemies and players are now faster.
4. Partner has defend action command(but the action commands need a little fine tuning.)
