Let's make a deal:, I make an engine, and you do the sprites

Okay. So I want to make a game. But of course, I'm not good at making backgrounds or characters. While I am still new to this game-making thing, I would at least like to try making one. I'll try and learn.

Game Idea: Jake Smithfield is a boy... with a gun. And a sikekick that whines alot. They go off fighting crime and stuff.
So one day, they end up hearing reports of several criminals messing around. Ex. Guy in a bar asking for more milk.
The game will be episodic. Kind of like Sam & Max.

While I can't explain it too well, I'll tell you what to draw, sprite, ect. as I go making the game. I'll give you character designs and other things to help.

Anybody interested? I might also need a music maker.

I'll do them.

I can do tilesets, objects, items, characters and enemies, possibly more.

Alright! But before we can start, I'm gonna need you to do a test.

I wanna see how well you sprite the main character. If you're close enough to the style, you're in!

The main character, Jake. Do me proud.

Can you post a demo first? or at least some screenies.

I need at least one sprite before I can do that.

and maybe a background.

I need proof that this game exists before I'll do anything.

(chances are I won't do anything anyway, because I'm a jerk like that, but I doubt anybody will do anything for a project that might never get finished!)

The thing is that I haven't started on it yet, but I will start it once I get atleast some placeholder sprites or something.

couldn't you just use coloured bricks for that or something?

It'd be helpful if we actually knew it was in production. In your case, post an engine.

Your going to need to post an exe of your WIP engine

even if the only sprites are 16x16 blocks

uh.. guys. wintermute is basically a premade engine. listen, i'll write the scripts (dialog), you do the sprites, k?

post exe or noone will help dude

if you want a test, go find wintermute. It wouldn't make sence to post a PREMADE engine.
