In rare circumstances there are events which occur that define a generation.
2003: THE HAPPY HEART BADGE IS BORN
A badge that was obtainable for being good for three months. It was later reduced to two and has since become a requirement for CCC access. Its design was altered to reflect it's inferiority over the SHH2005: THE SUPER HAPPY HEART BADGE IS BORN
A blue version to symbolise a user had been good for an entire year. This became the must have item for about 10 minutes. It's now more used than the original Happy Heart badgenow, in A.D. Two-thousand-and-nine, I present MFGG with
THE ULTRA HAPPY HEART BADGE
A BADGE SO THRILLING IT REQUIRES BLOCK CAPITALS IN ITS DESCRIPTION
The Ultra Happy Heart (formerly "Hyper Happy Heart") badge is a ridiculous badge that should only be seen on rare occasions
It is obtainable after
5 YEARSof being ban-free
(well okay, I say 5 years but it may drop down to 4 quite soon)
it means all those who registered before January 2004, have a reasonable amount of posts and have remained ban free qualify. As it currently stands, only about 0.8% of registered members qualify for this. If current trends continue it'll be at about 1.5% by this time next year. Even I don't qualify for it and I made the damn thing. It's a silly badge and I wouldn't take it too seriously.
The badge itself doesn't guarantee you anything special, but those who do qualify are to be considered "legends" for sticking with MFGG for so long without causing trouble. They are outstanding citizens of MFGG's populace and an inspiration for the younger generations etc. etc. Some of you may even consider them as official "oldbies" (though Yoshiman will claim you're only an oldbie if you were here in 2001). In the future this badge may become more meaningful, but that's not to say it isn't already an achievement though.
The requirements are insane. I am aware of that. But insane requirements make them more fun! Do not worry yourself if you've screwed up recently and have to wait 5 years for one - I do not expect to see a large number of these for a long while (if ever). It's not some part of an elitist plot where only those who own this badge are listened to, it's just recognition of their efforts. Though saying that, it'll probably be more common than the big help badge. It's meant for the unsung heroes of MFGG who have sat by their computers helping us out by posting sensibly for half a decade, and as said, it might drop to 4 to reflect a recent CCC poll.
If you qualify for one but haven't recieved it, give one of your friendly neighbourhood global moderators (or myself) (or Medaforcer) a ring. In fact, if you're owed any badge give us a ring. You should probably contact Meda first though, since it's his job, though give him some time to actually read this topic first so he has some idea of what the hell a Ultra Happy Heart is.
But guys, it's just a badge, don't get yourself worked up about it k. I know I screwed a few of you over by keeping insane requirements but you never know - someone might make one that lies between the Super and Ultra stages one day. And it could still drop down to 4. I'm about to dish these out to the 5 year guys since they'd get them regardless and people probably need to know what an Ultra Happy Heart is, hence this topic.
