Republicans vs. Democrats

I don't know how you could agree with most republican ideas.

.No gun control, at all
.No birth control
.No special interest groups.
.No health care
.No gay marriage

This is not meant to offend anyone specifically, but I see republicans as a bunch of red neck religious extremist.

I'm more on the democratic side but I'm not big on political parties anyways.

I choose not to affiliate with any party, but do support certain ideas regardless of party.

In other words only ideas that aren't really stupid.

I don't even know what this is

"Republican" is a political party and "conservative" is a political stance, which most in the Republican party have adopted to some degree

But I suggest you try to closen up what you think conservative policies are, as what you have is pretty not on-the-mark with conservatives


but I'll bite to the topic because your post doesn't have anything to do with R. vs. D.. Instead of saying "It's stupid", I'll just call myself a "moderate"

I don't affiliate with parties but I'm really liberal so I usually side with the democrats.

I'll never understand the reason behind America's gun policy.

Left to Right wing. Some people can be on the right side, doesn't make them red neck extremist.

I have no idea where I stand, but my boyfriend calls me a liberal, so I'll go with that.

He's also 238% conservative and an extreme Atheist.... ????

Niether party is perfect. Being democrat, I'll probably find more faults with the republican party than the democrats, but I'll just do this anyways. Maybe I'll cut it short, 'cause I'm tired.

Democrats:
Pros:
Obscessed with the enviroment
Open minded and not very religiously biused
Trys to think of other options besides war
Thinks of new ideas instead of always looking into the past for ideas
Cons:
Possibly too obcessed with the enviroment
Often doesn't make good choices about national security
Often looks past perfectly good ideas from the past that would work fine in situations
Too obcessed with women and rights for other people
Often democrats are jerks
Republicans:
Pros:
Fairly friendly (the ones I know are)
Good military judgement (I'll omit Bush from this)
Try to recycle ideas from the past
Cons:
Often too obcessed with military, not enough with more important things like education
Don't always make good impressions on foriegn people
Opinions on birthcontrol, gay marriage and abortion sorta weird (imo)

I hope someone reads this.

There are parts of the conservative ideology that I don't really like: the emphasis on religion, the stance on abortion even in extenuating circumstances, but that's just difference in ideals.

What really pisses me off about most Conservatives and, by extension, a lot of Republicans, is their lashing at the left. I honestly don't get how people sit through Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly: they draw on for so long about how great they and their network are, and the left-wing media is destructive, how Obama, Muslims, and single moms (though this applies more to Coulter) are destroying America, how they want Obama to fail, and how bad secular people are--and, then, they have the balls to call themselves "fair and balanced."

Basically, to each his own, but stop trying to beat up each others' owns.

I see a lot of dems crying foul in this topic. I'm curious if you guys live in heavily conservative areas, because I live in a heavily liberal area and I see the exact opposite most of the time.

That is rather stereotypical to assume that every Republican does this... and this member didn't even insult anything in his post.

Unless this member has done it in the past, then I understand what you're saying.

The community I live in itself is one of the richest within the state, so a large number is republican, but the school is pretty balanced since it's people from all over, not just this area.
