Sprite Compo Numero 155, with a little taste! ;)

Well the problem isn't with the pixel art itself, but this is a sprite competition. Other communities always have pixel art and sprite competitions separate from each other. Honestly it'd be like allowing animations in a drawing competition. Sure, drawing could eventually lead some people down the path to animation, but it's not for everyone. And if you were to vote in such a competition would you vote for a high quality drawing or a lengthy, high quality animation? This obviously won't be a problem with this competition since all entries will be pixel art. However, this competition is mislabeled.

I just think it would be a mistake to make this a common occurence, and I am sorry to interrupt the topic further.

By the way, ndsfreak, can't wait to see how that translates to full size.

There's not really a fine enough distinction between sprite and pixelart, they're both made in the same format and with the same methods, for example, would you claim this to be a piece of pixelart or a sprite?



The difference between sprite and pixelart is not the same as the difference between drawings and animations, if it was then sprite competitions shouldnt allow animations as sprites are, essentially, drawings, no matter what size they are.

Pixel art generally is described to be larger in size and greater in detail and is not usually used for gaming purposes nor is it usually animated. That is the difference between a sprite and a work of pixel art. If you had your mind set, sure you could animate a huge 200 x 200 sprite for a game, but that would take an impractical amount of time and effort.

Thats too big and is not pixelart?

Oh, well, I did it on a computer with a paint program and it said the MINIMAL size is 200x 200...
If I misunderstood, sorry...
