Yeah, I've been thinking of adding more challenge to the boss fight, like having him throw projectiles or something along those lines.

Gameplay video looks really nice. My only suggestion is some deacceleration since Mario's movements seem really abrupt. (That is, when you're running full speed and you suddenly change directions)

Love the RPG character addition.

Are some of the graphics placeholders? because you're a pretty good spriter and could probably pull this off with custom sprites you know.

Well, to answer your question, most of the graphics are final, and most of them are not final. There are a bunch of customs in there, but most of the other graphics here are either edited slightly, or just used in the way they are.

Ahhh...

I wasn't planning on making all of the sprites custom at first. I would like to, but I would need more time on my hands. Maybe if I ask for help...

About the sprites, I've already told you you can use my 100% custom sprites when they're done.

But if you want to release the game within a month, you can't get most of the tiles and stuff...

Actually, I was hoping to get a demo out by last week, but things didn't work out.

I guess I'll release the demo when it's done, so there will be plenty of time.

Starlow will give you information on enemies when you click on them (ala Tippi's Tattle Ablility from SPM). She also gives you tips when you hit a message block.

This looks really fun! I'm looking forward to trying a demo since seeing the video. You've got quite a bit of level variety, which is excellent! : )))
A couple of items I think could use improvement, though:
-Yeah, I think custom graphics would be the way to go here, man. I used to use that Mario sprite for a lot of my games and it's just such a homely little thing. Graphics aren't bad, but they don't all seem to mesh together wonderfully.
-As was suggested, the Bowser Jr. battle looks way too easy. The boss will get boring fast if you don't have him attack you. As it is, it's hard to believe he's even a boss at all! xD
