My Computer Science class in highschool also decided that it would be fun to teach us Visual Basic instead of something, ya know, useful.

I already knew Python at the beginning of the class so I kind of spaced out during the entire thing.

So yeah, they're teaching Java now so I plan to play around with Construct's Python stuff on my own and learn Java in the class.

Our CS1 class goes amazingly slow; we're about 2 months into Java, and we only just finished learning about if/then/elseif statements. What's even worse is that no one in the class gets any of it anyway except me and a random fat kid, despite the agonizingly slow speed (because our teacher is an ugly ***** with an amazingly annoying voice, who can't explain things for her life, and it's honestly easier just to tune her out and read the textbook), so I have to pretty much go around the class helping everyone (no one likes the fat kid).

Also, for some reason our teacher decided we should learn HTML "as a stepping stone" to programming earlier in the year. I have no idea what her logic was there.

The BASIC Language and variants teach bad Programming Habits. They are NOT recommended.

Then use C or JavaScript or Forth. C++ is not needed

SO far Construct is kind of too basic, though I still haven't found a way to just open a damn code window and type.

That should be the easiest thing to do in any SDE, make a big damn button that says OPEN TEXT EDITOR.

Wait, wait, wait -- so what was the programming language that The Games Factory used...? LUA... (as someone mentioned earlier, but I'm still not sure)?

Dunno but TGF is really basic so that'd kind of be a big step down for me...

Yeah that is pretty stupid, Lua (not LUA damnit) is just an embeddable language that alot of other programs use because of how versatile it is.

Dunno how I missed that, must be me toning out low post members again...
