How did you get your character?

having forked mike's cartoon style some time before, I drew myself. with inverted eyes, which was supposed to be symbolic of me being the one drawing. or something.

I wanted a original character, not many people used a Toad character.

I like bunnies and Vikings.

So I combined the two.

Don't have a character, but Sq. Dragon was inspired by another persons enemy sprite.

A pen+paper game me and some freinds played during maths called voodoo.

We were all stickmen to begin with, but we customised ourselves gradually, I drew awesomified versions of all of us later.

I combined awesomified me with another crappy character and got the current me.

I messed with current me a lot too.

Oh, but back on topic...

First ref i was a banana with a skull on it... Why? I dunno, i made an animation where Luigi died and his skull came up and i felt like throwing in a fad at the time so i had the dancing banana wear it...

that was cool for a while, but it got kinda annoying when everyone thought of your character as either constantly angry or continuously dancing and talking about peanut butter jelly sandwiches, so i decided to make a mario themed ref...

Cue MK, the orange bandit... Why a bandit? because it was a very little used mario species (at the time i didn't know many who used bandits and i still don't know very many.) so i figured it'd be original. That, and orange is my favorite color.

After using him for a looong time, i decided to try and make a more original character, one that would relect me a little better... i had a contest of sorts where people voted which design i came up with should win. One was one of those angel people from Super Paper Mario, and the other was a completely original character...

Even though the angel character got more votes, i overturned it and decided to use the other, which is Dylan the Armadillo... Armadillos aren't used often... Not only that, but it fits me because I'm Texan, and i also like that it's the only marsupial native to America. Plus, i can make him fat without making him look bad, which is a must considering i'm fat and i wanted to reflect that. :p

It started with a game I made, called Master Hand's Pro Skater (don't ask)
One of the bosses was a robot called Bolt.
Over the many, many, many years it evolved into what he is: Beta-omega "Bolt" Brass.

He means RII, as in his name.

Facial structure is usually somewhat different.

I still remember when you were Max Mario

Started out for a half-arsed attempt of a sprite comic, then got tired of being just a recolor

Originally, my character was a very unoriginal stick figure, based mostly off Rayman with the idea of no joints connecting the arms, legs, and head. My username way back then was Dimensional. Once I chose the username of Retro, I changed it. Eventually, I chose to add an X at the end because it was cool.

Eventually, I decided to move on to a digital, green 3D-grid sort of approach, and I got inspired to make my current character.

Bungalo and I made my character together, so it was basically a girl version of Bungalo's character and then later on I changed a few things about her. (ha, I've changed her so many times.) =P
