I remember there being by some physics college class or something, comparing jump heights between the games

apparently the Mushroom Kingdom has low gravity (which slowly growing closer to ours), and Mario'd be able to jump 5 feet high I think

lets say mario in his non-super form is the same size as a 16 by 16 bush

the size of a bush is roughly 2-3 feet

therefore,

mario can jump about 7 to 10.5 feet

I don't quite see how you're getting that result, though. I was only using blocks as a sort of intermediate unit (equal to 2/3 of 5.5 feet, since Super Mario is about 1.5 times the height of a block in SMW).


EDIT: Wait, I think I see what you're saying. You're talking about Mario's height in the first place.

I kind of assumed that Peach wasn't unusual in height (she's also probably not too different in height compared to Mario in most appearances). Also bushes can vary a lot in size.

No it's not.

According to Nintendo, Mario's height is 1, because Nintendo's unit in distance is "Mario".
Also, the unit for force, speed and stache-growth is [1 Mario], just like everything else.

Luigi for example is probably 1.1 Marios tall.
The power impacted on the floor when Luigi jumps is 0.7 Marios, but the duration of that jump is roughly 1.3 Marios.

A block is 0.5 Marios.
Since Mario can jump four blocks high from standing, he can jump 2 Marios high, when running 3.
Problem solved.

Jumping distance would be different depending on your value of g though

so you need Mario -> Metric conversions to work out how high Mario could jump on other planets, such as Earth

I mean there might be a value of g in SMB1 but that'll be pixels per second squared and we want metres per second squared. And how big's a pixel in metres? It depends on the size of the TV.

If one Mario in terms of distance = 32 pixels and the above pixel -> Metre conversion was found, you could work out how big a "Mario" was. But yeah.

But the first post says "real-world measurements."

Snake looks like he's an average sized man of 1.80m.

1.50 Mario = 1.80*m

Mario = 1.80/1.50 m

Mario = 1.2m


Mario can jump 3 Marios high when running.
Mario can jump 3*1.2 m high when running.
Mario can jump 3.6 m high when running.
With his head, Mario can touch objects 4 Marios above the ground.
Mario can touch objects 4.8m above the ground when jumping.

Now that I think of it, there are videos of Mario using a Wii Wheel. That wheel is known in size and from that size we can find what [Mario] is in [Meter].

Olimar in Brawl was resized a great amount. A better comparison would be a human from the same game, namely Peach.
