I definitely found TP more boring. Wind Waker's ocean just had a such a fun sense of discovery to it when you found some secret little island or a ship or something floating around. The sailing did get a little tedious, but Twilight Princess's overworld was just too closed in and empty, though I can't really say I disliked exploring it as well...

I prefer WW's overworld.
It feels quite relaxing to sail between the adventuring parts.
From time to time you come across islands or find those barrels with rupees on them.

Yeah, I really enjoyed WW. I wish we'd get another game with WW's graphics that has a similar concept of overworld.

Wind Waker's Great Sea felt like a true open world to explore, it was charming, and it was just a lot of fun sailing and finding new islands. TP's overworld felt generic and boring in comparison, even if you did have more control. Also add the fact that the original TP trailers made it look much more open than it actually was, which was disappointing that Hyrule Feild was more or less a bunch of "rooms".

Wind Waker was lush and colorful and creative, with little islands off the beaten trail you could find, and random pirate events occurring throughout the sea, the world really felt alive.

While we're on the topic, I would like to point out that the Phantom Hourglass was even worse than TP's. They shrunk everything so the players wouldn't feel "bored" while sailing to another destination.

Which of course is the opposite of how I felt, the realistic sense of scale made the world more real.

WW overworld offered a pretty enormous exploration map which was either pretty boring or exciting, depending on what you find. The Sea battles were the highlights, but constantly changing the wind direction just to move at a moderate speed became annoying at most.

Haven't even played TP yet, and still debating whether or not to get it.

WW's overworld was incredibly boring to me. I was sick and tired of looking at the same colour and water over and over - seeing in the distance was awesome, but that was in TP as well, and really all 3D Zelda games, so that doesn't count. TP also had more battles than WW seemed to have, and having to attempt to stop the boat and backtrack every time I saw something wizzing by way too ****ing quickly, plus always having to change the wind direction to go somewhere, plus the annoying octopus battles made WW's overworld not only boring, but annoying to me.

The realistic environment makes Twilight Princess' OW much more.....homely to me.

Haven't played TP yet, sadly.

And actually, I haven't played much of WW. But I did get to have to sail, and it sucked. Big time. It's the biggest setback I have from actually wanting to play it.

...TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH, I HAVEN'T EVEN PLAYED MAJORA'S MASK FULLY, AND I DON'T HAVE THE CHANCE

I loved everything about Wind Waker, but I hated almost everything about Twilight Princess. I think my choice is pretty obvious.

Wind Waker's overworld was basically a large empty ocean that lacked any particular features other than islands. The constant sailing was so boring and uninteresting too.

Twilight Princess has similar faults as well, but at least it had diverse and beatiful landscapes that made Hyrule Field more appealing and vivid. There was much more variation and contrast in the dungeons/towns as well.

in b4 some counter against my argument

Twilight Princess. So much open space it was a complete waste and just made it immensely boring. The size of it didn't help either, I don't think Zelda should have an overworld that large ever again unless they can put the entire thing to proper use.

Wind Waker is my favorite, I love sailing and viewing the islands as they pass by. I never get bored of it.

I must admit, I can't accurately judge Twilight Princess's over world because I got too bored of the game to finish it or even bother exploring.

Twilight Princess IS boring. Overrated piece of garbage in my opinion. Next time Nintendo gets everyone's hopes up they better deliver next time.

well, there were also submarines, submerged treasure, boats, pirate attacks, ghost ships, giant squids, sea towers, barrels that float up from the sea floor, and various enemies. Not to mention, there was weather, stormier parts of the sea, wave size variants, seagulls, wind affects, and many other little touches here and there.

Edit: Oh, and there were also Beetle shops.

They never really had my hopes up for Twilight Princess. First it was like REALISTIC LINK and I was like "oh god" and then WOLF LINK "what the **** Nintendo's stealing ideas from fanfiction.net now" and then the game itself "zzzzz"

I think the Wolf marked the point when the entire direction of the project took it up the ass. It would have been much better as an Oot sequel.

The beta looked far more impressive then what we got, everything just ended up dumbed down and took ridiculous steps back. Everything was too dull and realistic, Oot and Mm had their own styles. I expected a Zelda like that.

Overrated

You're kidding, right? Twilight Princess is underrated as hell.

And I could say the exact same thing about Wind Waker.
