Hello everyone! Remember my old C++ Tutorials? Well, those failed, so I decided to do one to get you right into SDL and C++. I do say in Lesson 1 to take the tutorial on cplusplus.com first, and to learn how to use your IDE first as well, so don't complain about me not explaining everything.

SDL, or Simple DirectMedia Layer, is a Cross-Platform Library set that allows you to quickly and easily develop games and applications. I recommend it as it is very easy to learn, and it works on nearly every major OS.

Any suggestions, comments? Confused about something? Contact me here on MFGG and I will try to explain it, and then improve the tutorial.

Is SDL a C library? Your example seems to reflect this, as it's written in pure C.

Doesn't matter much to me either way since I'm using SFML.

Yes, SDL is a C Library. It works Natively in C++, of course.

Are you using Windows or GNU/Linux? On Windows, just get Dev-C++. It comes with the popular MinGW32 Compiler. On GNU/Linux, get KDevelop, it comes with the Open-Source GCC/G++ Compiler.

Lesson 2 is up! Also, fixed up a few things in Lesson 1, and added a little bit about Double Buffering in Lesson 1.
