In all my years of HL2 mods, this may be my favorite.

So, the basic idea behind this is "Deathball" from the Unreal 4 engine, ported onto the Source engine and made, well, fun.

Now, from this engine you can see alot of features that this game has. Basically what you're doing is, running around with guns and a grappling hook trying to score goals on the other team. Another thing that makes this game original is the level system. As you play this game you will earn XP for things like killing people and scoring goals. Another great thing is the League system. When you play the game it will register you into the league, from here, your stats will be tracked, and teams already formed on the website can look you up and recruit you to their team. There are alot of tournaments with real prizes.


Its a simple thing to explain, but you have to play it to see how awesome this game is.

do i need half-life two, or just something that uses the half-liufe 2 engine (like garrys mod does)?

If you can play Garry's Mod you can play this.

Also I just played an hour long match with the development team, it was really fun, I'm thinking of getting into the leagues in this game.

Well the team system isn't up yet.

What I recommend doing right now is looking up how to get the Smashball_Test thing, they hold games in that to test new content, all of the creators are there and its really fun.

For example the match I played today, they had custom weapon models for everything, alot better than the HL2 models they're using at the moment.

Well the tutorial was pretty fun, and the guy was funny too.

BUT I only see 6 servers on the server list. They're all empty.

Edit: Maybe it's because I didn't register one second.

Also yeah, the servers are fairly empty right now because the game is new and incomplete. People still play weekly matches on the test build so try and get into that.

As far as the normal servers filling, I'd say give it time, they just got an interview on ModDB and they're pumping out updates, so I'd think the game's popularity will only go up from here.

Just watch the steam group, they send out announcements when they get on and I've found that the developers are more than happy to switch to Smashball if they're on another game.

Main problem is how few players are active at the moment.

I guess only time can fix that.

You need source.

Source costs whatever Half Life 2 costs.

Just buy it there are hundreds of mods you'll be able to play, its like buying a ton of great games for $20.

Plus the reticule for HL2 on the xbox sucks.
