Favorite zombie game

Basically, what zombie game or franchise is your favorite of 'em all? If I'm missing any, let me know. To be honest, I know the Resident Evil franchise is considered one of Capcom's best and all, but I really enjoy Dead Rising much more and am looking forward to Dead Rising 2 more than Resident Evil 5. Maybe I got into the series a bit too late, but they're a bit slow for what I'd expect in a zombie game. It makes sense to restrict the amount of ammo your character has and all and make your movements stiff to get you tense, but it just seems like forced difficulty to me. Resident Evil is scarier though, I'll give it that. I guess they shouldn't be compared though, they're too different from each other. But either way, Dead Rising is my favorite zombie game yet, and about to become my favorite zombie game series if Dead Rising 2 is good.

For years I dreamed of a game where I could just slaughter zombies with any object I find. For years I pictured it, I waited for it, but I felt it would never come. Dead Rising was so close to my dream I nearly had to change my pants when I heard of it. I loved every minute of it and it holds the record for longest playtime in one sitting. 20 hours. And I didn't even get the damn achievement.


But regardless it is #1 for me.


Though there is a game coming that may just top it. Dead Island. Not nearly enough info out for it but I await it with open arms.

Wow I forgot Left 4 Dead.

No zombie game has entertained me as much.
Though I haven't played Overkill yet.

Left 4 dead, mainly because I haven't played the others listed.

I've got to say, I like each of them equally for their own reasons.

You really should, it's about the closest thing you can get to a zombie outbreak simulator and is a must have if you're a zombie fan.

resident evil 4 is one of my favorite games of all time.

The only one I have played is L4D and I thought that was pretty fun.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors

Dead rising was fun,
but Zombie fort and Zombie Panic are my two main sources of zombie excitement right now..

I don't play many zombie games but L4D would have to be my favorite so far.

dead rising by far, i hope the sequel will be just as good, if not better.

Possibly Urban Dead since it's the only online zombie mmo that I know of.

Resident Evil 4

Left 4 Dead and Dead Rising were okay, but their fun-factor pales in comparison with the Resident Evil series. RE3 was okay (I didn't much like the first 2 games or Umbrella Chonicles), but RE4 was outstanding and RE5 is shaping up to be just as good.

I'll go to far as say multi-player RE4 is more fun than Left 4 Dead. Racing my friend for 8 hours on separate consoles was a blast.

Dead Rising would be my fav, if it weren't for the fact that there's no multiplayer. So my Favs are Zombie Panic Source, and Killing Floor.
