PK, it's good for testing teams and strategies if you're unsure of whether you want to spend profuse amounts of time breeding, training, and getting TMs for a Pokemon that might not even be what you want -- and for people that don't have all the time in the world for Pokemon games, this is a pretty helpful tool.
I don't quite understand why you're so opposed to it, either. I'm all for raw training/playing with no AR/cheats, but this is just helpful and convenient. It's like a test simulator.

Yeah, I mean
Some people have obligations, you know
Like having a job, and college, and all those little real world "inconveniences" to take care of
Pokemon games tend to have a ridiculous grind and people simply cannot spare 20+ hours to goof around with numbers on their DS

Back in the old netbattle I used this very often, and I enjoyed it. Mostly because it was the only way to battle other trainers online. And I'm sure I will enjoy this too.
But even still, there's still a good feeling of accomplishment that comes from battling real teams with my real team, instead of just taking a few minutes to synth a team up.

Either way I still suck. |
I actually cloned his team pretty damn accurately. to the point where he was practically fighting himself. good times.

in which case you could use the wifi in the actual game cartridges
btw there's no "accomplishment" for raising your pokemon manually. i've tried to do that, and it just makes me sick. and i have a fair-game perfect gardevoir, so it must not be very fulfilling, now can it.
anyone who gets a sense of accomplishment from wasting their life to raise numbers to the optimal values is just pathetic and shouldn't even be considered.
