Well I saw the last show last night... that was great.
The show started in 1993, but I only started watching it about 2 years ago... I can't believe all the stuff I've missed. All of those compilation videos were just freaking hilarious. The one where Conan dresses up as a 1864 gentleman playing baseball, (*he points to an airplane* What is this demonry?) The various clips of him and Andy Richter, (who it was great was the last guest) some of the shenanigans and crazy stuff they've done, I'm glad I got to see some of it, at least.
I could go on and on about the funny things he's done, but I probably shouldn't, as I've been talking about him all week to everyone I know since this is a big week for him.
And at the end, he spent a good solid 10 minutes thanking everybody on his staff, the producers, the writers, Max Weinberg and the band, toward the end he was starting to choke up a little. And he ended with the proclamation that it's time for Conan to grow up since he's moving to 11:35, "I promise you that is not going to happen."
Then during the credits he shook everyone's hands, hugged them, and everyone got a piece of the freaking sides of the set that Conan has chopped up over the course of the week.
Truely something I won't forget, I'm glad I saw it.
Also: They brought back the FedEx Pope about a few weeks ago. Also also: It's not Leno's last show yet.
