This topic is several months old and most probably no longer up to date. Do not bump old topics.
If you want to play the "latest version" you should go to the mainsite and download it there.

As for the error, I'm sorry that this happened to you, but it seems to be a glitch of GM that it sometimes doesn't open the level as it should. In the final version I'll try to cover that glitch to prevent loss of saved data at least.

EDIT:
On the other hand it could be because you just didn't download all the files and only the update, which is highly possible, or you just didn't extract the files from the .zip archive.

Guinea, I know you're not working on this now, as it required lots of work, but do you have any idea when you might start on this again?

It's just so cool.

Summer holidays sounds like a good period to focus on this, next to Midas Machine, of course.

Help Needed

I'd really need someone who can help out with tilesets, so if you have nothing to do and can sprite in this style that I've started with, contact me via IM or PM (IM preferred).
You could not only have your name in the credits, but also help me out to bring more life to this game, which is the thing it lacks most.
If you want to go beyond the tilesets, you can also do that, as long as you can stick to the existing style close enough.

And for those who can't help, a little something so they didn't enter this topic for nothing:

If you finished the demo, you have seen the sign that says Dorrie isn't here.
Here she is. And there are also some YI bats, complete with glitter traces.
(Ignore the bat that's underwater)

There's a link to the demo in the first post, but yeah I'd prefer it if you download it from the mainsite.
I'll add that link, too.

EDIT: Done. Link to mainsite is now in the first post.

I absolutely loved the demo. The controls work like a dream, the level design is great, and the tributes to SM64 are rewarding.

I know "SM642D" isn't exactly an original concept, but this is certainly better than 99.9% of other games that try to do the same thing. The reason? This actually feels like SM64 in two dimensions.

I'm extremely impressed, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised given the source. =)

Thank you smile.gif

Also, this game is not "SM642D".
While the castle area contains some tributes, like you said, to SM64, the game will leave the castle after the part which you played in the demo and take you to other areas.

Ah, my apologies... It's just, given the content of the demo, it seems like that kind of game.

That said, the prospect of leaving the castle is intriguing, to say the least. smile.gif

Yep. It's also a bit my fault for showing nothing else other than the castle. =/

Anyway, if you have finished the demo, you have proably seen some new characters. They should also give you a hint to one place where the journey will lead the bros.
