Street Fighter IV, How is there not a topic on this?

Picked it up last night, I love how faithful it is to the original (Street Fighter II) and how everyone kept their movies. The computer is still impossible and the stages annoy me on how they aren't assigned to characters. The music isn't great but the remixes ARE good. But everything is balanced and is really easy to pick up.


It's the best since Street Fighter II and a welcome addition to my library.

I've been playing the hell out of it with my friends and I love the game so far. I hate Seth with a passion though.

Yeah, game's pretty fun but I'm not used to the parrying though. My bro got an arcade stick and it's really nice playing SFIV with it.

I played it at a GameStop/EB (Don't remember which it was) and it's pretty damned good. I don't have it yet, but I am great with Guile.

I'll probably be killed for saying this here, but I hope SNK does an equally good/better job with King of Fighters XII.

I've been way too busy playing a certain other very new Capcom fighter to really even notice that SFIV came out in the states. I'll probably grab it on PC once that rolls around, but my hopes aren't too high.

Street Fighter III was good gameplay wise, but it made a huge mistake of removing almost all of the characters so I never liked it

You must not be very good at fighting games...

I know for a fact that I am not very good either, but I have several 2D fighters where even cranking the CPU difficulty up to the max is not challenging enough(*cough*IaMP/SWR).

It had a much more interesting cast, and honestly I saw it as a mistake even tossing in a few characters from II, since they're the only ones people use in that game really.

I'd say I'm okay, but not good enough to memorize all the combos n' such.

The only other minor thing I hate is the announcer. He can go to hell.


@ Delmore: If it ain't broken, don't fix it. I appreciated their idea to introduce a new generation of sorts, but it immediately set me back quite a bit.

I expected SFIV to be more fun. It's good for what it's worth, but unfortunately I sorta lose interest after about 10 decent rounds. I never lose interest when I'm playing SFIII or Alpha, and I can play those for hours.

Not to mention the new characters are either cheap or useless, the game style is WAY too cartoony like Vampire Savior meets Disney, and the normal animations of the game are so SFII-esque that they feel block and less fluid (excepting new Characters, Chun Li, and Sakura)

Overall, it's an okay game, but I think it could have been better.

All the AI in Street Fighter are beatable. And you don't have to be amazing to do it.

It's a good fighter, but it's still Street Fighter. I can't help it, I really dislike the system.

My favorite part of the game is Zangief's intro movie. Oh, also the boy band menu music. I'm not being sarcastic, it's awesome.

The anime cut scenes are terrible too IMO. I think anime COULD be pulled off well but these are short, ugly, and tell you nothing really.

That is a catchy tune, I'm not gonna lie. As well as the little Techno thing they do in the opening after it.

I only had a chance to play one round at GameStop the other day. The game is pretty cool actually, but it was hard to play a little since I'm rusty at SF for one, and for two, using an XBox controller was pretty awkward for me.

Now for me to wait 4 months until this game has its PC release, then I can gain my technique.

It's not good.
Also it's not the pc version of puzzle fighter.

The AI is as dumb as **** in both SWR and IaMP.
I can beat all the characters on lunatic as Hong. And I suck arse at it.
Using the caster AI kinda added some challenge, but I did eventually beat it.

Shame everyone insist on playing SWR online instead of the vastly superior IaMP.

Sucks for me then because that's all I'll have to work with.
Unless I emulate it, which at this point, is impossible =/

I like the tune, but then they made an actual song out of it.
