I don't think I've seen a topic for this. I finally got to reading it two months ago, after I saw the trailer. I just hope the movie is at least almost as good as the graphic novel.

Your school library? My school doesn't have a single comic, and they wouldn't have the balls to put up something with even a little bit of sexual content.

They have one of the volumes of The League Of Extrodinary Gentlemen.

I read it a while back and loved it

I do hope and pray the movie will do the novel some justice. I don't have excessively high hopes though. Probably wont be a bad movie in itself.

I heard the film suffers from trying to fit an HBO miniseries level of content into a film- it's as good as a Watchmen movie could be but suffers from the fact that a movie isn't that great of a format for it. I can imagine that's probably what it'll feel like too. Still going to see it though, if nothing else it will at least look great!

They did take it out- or at least everything I've read points to them doing so. I suppose it's not *that* big of a deal, but it is an integral part of the plot so a lot of changes would have to be made :/

Have you seen the 6 or so scenes they've put up? if not I'll go find them again, they're like 30 second scenes from the movie. One of them is really dumb because Ozymandias says "even Dr. Manhattan can't be everywhere at once"- because the entire point of Dr. Manhattan's character is that he CAN do everything, he just doesn't care enough to do anything.

I'm really hoping it's going to be great, but in 3 hours it's still impossible to cover all tthe ground that hte book does.

too bad only the people who read the comic will get it- it is the best scene in the comic too. "Gloria ...I'm sorry. It's the world.... I can't run from it."

**** they should just make a sequel (midquel?) that focuses on the people around the newstand, dr. malcolm long, etc. damn that'd be great

All I can say is changing the ending is a big bad idea

The ending of the novel was by all means perfect. I cannot see it ending any other way

I truly hope they don't "I Am Legend" this. The short stories ending was beautiful. The movies was lame.

I think a change to the ending is not a bad idea
Spoilers:
If they don't change the fact that everyone dies, I'll be happy. The true epicness of the ending has nothing to do with the "squid" itself, the ending is great because of the nature of the tragity, a gobal crisis. And if the writers want to take a more realistic turn, it won't bother me. Besides, the mutant at the end was so random, hardily explained, and had very little foreshadowing around it, I never realy liked it anyway. /

But the alien was the whole reason for the end of war. The whole reason the Comedian had to be killed. The whole reason for everything really. They better think of something good to replace it

There is some foreshadowing in around the middle as to what might happen (although it's kind of a strech), but in comics 11 and 12 the whole story is suddenly about it.

The whole story foreshadows it if you look closer really.

Exactly what it is going to be is kept secret or it would kind of ruin the ending
