i Group: Banned Posts: 776 Member No.: 4916 Joined: 20-February 08 Status: (0d)	Not sure if there's a topic about this anywhere else, I didn't see one but if there is please lock this. Quake live! It is basically Quake 3, made by ID, but it's free and browser based with ad support in the game (though i'm yet to see one). You only need to download and install a small program and the rest is downloaded as you play, filesize is tiny really. You can play matches with friends or randomly in ranked or unranked matches and it all runs silky smooth from my experience. Has all the usual, deathmatch, team deathmatch, capture the flag, instagib matches and a few others. Check it out. I was just hoping that because it can run regular Quake 3 at full speed with no problems whatsoever, that it would be able to tackle this too. But the bad sides to it that it playing experience varies by location and time. Like everytime I decided to try to enter the home page, there is always a long wait saying the server is packed and I have to wait for a long time no less than 15 minutes. This morning I had to wait close to a hour to get in. And when I do want to play online, there is hardly any server online around my location making me only have to play other servers at the price of a very high ping. ...sigh....

If I want to play a Quake 3-based game I'll just stick with OpenArena.
