Well it's not like anyone's FORCING you people to buy this. I don't see where the complaining is coming from. You sure as hell didn't whine when Microsoft changed its own controller for the XBox in the middle of things, why complain when Nintendo introduces a new and totally OPTIONAL controller?

This is just an uglier version of the PS2/3 controller.
Heck, I'm pretty sure there'll be Classic Controller Pro -> PS2/3 adapters out soon after release.

well you couldn't use it as a GC controller replacement without at least one of them

might as well throw another in while you have the bandwidth

i'm not complaining, because L and R being pressure-sensitive gets really annoying in some cases

So you have to buy a new part to make the Classic Controller better? Only Nintendo!

No from the looks of things it's an entirely new controller, rather than a shell.

So does this mean Ape Escape 1 will become downloadable? Cuz' that's pretty much the only game that would gain anything from a controller like this.

I have a feeling Sony is going to drop out next generation. And, becuase the economy is ****, they might consider giving Nintendo rights to release PS1 games or something.

Never gonna happen. If anything, they just won't make a next-gen console. The PS3's capabilities are the better side of perfection. They just need a bigger and more diverse game library. That was their strength with the PSX and PS2, so hopefully they aren't foolish enough to break code.

Not to mention, the past and Sony's previous success in the last two generations considered, I think It'd take more than one console with unsatisfying results to get them to drop out. Just take a look at how many add-on and console failures SEGA had before they finally quit the home console business.

On the subject of the controller, maybe it'll provide a solution for developers who want to develop a particular game for the Wii but don't benefit from the simplicity of the Wii remote or button layout on the old controller (For lack of a better example, this is one way I could see a Wii Kingdom Hearts game actually working).

Or a choice for personal preference really, if you don't like holding controllers like an SNES pad.

I may not've bothered if not for the fact that they royally screwed up the button map on the Gamecube controller for certain VC platformers that used the B button to run.
