I see, I've misunderstood the point of this tournament then.

Well you guys do what you want since changing it to UU or w/e won't really affect me , but tbh I'd feel bad for Meda :P

Well, there are actually two tournaments

one is for determining Elite Four membership; the second is to see who can beat them

and as stated previously, Meda is officially psychic on the list

imo uu is only uu. it's how we did it back in 06, but i'm not in position to making a ruling so

they're competitive tiers, uu meaning underused, ou meaning overused.

Okay, since I'm too lazy to make a poll, post your votes below; voting ends at six on friday.

1. No OU period
2. OU and UU, but no pokemon with a base stat total above 555.

I wish Darkrai didn't count as a Legendary. ;-;


But yeah, a lot of the OU Pokemon are too ****ing cheap.
Example? Tokekiss that just ALWAYS seems to get a critical hit.

I mean, my whole team is UU.

Unless they can be fixed to be non-cheap.

I don't see why we have to have all these silly restrictions when it's for fun. It kind of takes the fun away from TYPE SPECIFIC teams when you ban half of them!

Because not having type restrictions would defeat the purpose of the gym leader idea, and allowing legendaries would just be cheap because the majority of them are way too strong anyways.

I mean, have you seen Mewtwo's stats!?

Oh, I'm all for the not allowing legendaries! But if we're just going to start banning a bunch of other pokemon...

Have you seen their stats? There's a reason they're deemed "uber" by Smogon.

Why are we going to start holding up a competitive battling site's standards for gym teams. They would laugh at the idea. Why don't we just follow nintendo's rules?

Also, Pip, I had changed from dragon to psychic since it was open in my set of gyms.

I like Nintendo rules because it lets me use Heatran, and his design is like, the best design from the new gen.

I think this whole UU/OU debate is a bit unfair, you guys. These tiers only exist because of Smogon, and outside of America the tier system is hugely different -- implying that it's not the Pokemon itself that makes it good or not, but how you play it. Unless there's one, universal tier system (which there isn't), then I don't think we should integrate it into our tournament as a way to cripple certain people's teams. Try working on your own teams, instead -- maybe that's where the flaws are.
