MFGG Pokemon league

Actualy, the whole OU/UU thing IS valid.

Some Pokemons just have far higher stats, abilities and better movepools than others.

Before anything Pokemon is still some kind of RPG, and just like every RPG there's always characters with higher power and attacks.

I don't pay attention to tiers. Tiers R4 queers.

The only classification I really care about is legends, bigger legends, and non-legends.

Besides, tiers are too ****ing subjective. Smogon is not the end-all authority on Pokemon, and never will be.

Ok so it looks like no UU so far

So what's out position on pokemon with base 600 stats? allow? disallow? follow nintendo rules?

I still think my team is pretty balanced.
Well, for being a fire team anyway.

(Btw, for my last Pokémon, I'm torn between Torkoal and Arcanine. One is very defensive, one is fast and powerful.)

PK go for Arcanine, Torkoal takes too much damage without a fair share being dealt

Yeah I was leaning toward Arcanine. I know that Torkoal has pretty average special defense and miserable speed.

In fact I think the last time I did this before, I wanted Arcanine in my gym team when I had mentally drafted out a possible fire team.

Though it WOULD be good against ground and rock...

As PK pointed out, though Smogon's tiers are not set-in-stone fact. The tiers vary from nation to nation and from userbase to userbase. To use Smogon's standards alone is silly and really limits everyone abilities and options.

Also, I must say, i really disapprove of you all forcing Medaf to change his team. I feel like you're taking out your own team's flaws on him by crippling his team. You could have just altered your own team to compensate for his dragons -- I mean, if you had 2 or 3 good Mons with Ice Attacks, you'd've easily already taken out over half his team.

And it's not like Ice is hard to come by or a uncommonly used offensive type.

I just think that if you're letting stuff like GARCHOMP in, you should probably allow the relatively useless legendaries like Moltres, Regice, and Articuno

actually when i commented on needing a better kingdra counter i got "don't make an anti-me that's lame" :x

anyway, whatever type meda winds up with i'll still fight without complaint, just as i'll fight each and every one of you. and in the end, no matter where i or anyone else winds up, i'll be looking back and thinking about how fun it was to get out there and fight new strategies and learn cool mon-synergies.

i hope the rest of you will come around to my view on it as well :>


oh and before i forget, mecha's droppin' out on account of not feeling up to snuff with the competition. i'll get him to post on here about it too i suppose.

Well, yeah, a completely anti-Medaf team is unfair, but if you only have one Pokemon with an Ice attack -- or even none -- you might wanna fix that.

Also, I agree; I honestly really start to get turned off to Pokemon when everyone gets all tier-happy and butthurt when someone uses Garchomp or something. It's Pokemon, no college applications or something pertinent to your future, guys.

Ranking will be held on Saturday. Dunno what to do about Mecha, but it can't be helped.
