Young Link: Attempt One

So funny thing happened. I was practicing my eyes today, and I thought to myself "Huh. Y'know, I don't think I'm just going to let a good sketch like this go to waste." So I added a nose and mouth, then I realize it looked like Young Link from the OoT manga. So I expanded on it, and viola! This little sketch came to be! C+C on this is welcome, but don't mention the eyes not being symetrical. I'm no good with symetry...and I know he seems lanky.

Nayru Potrait: Sketch

So today I had purchased Manga Mania: Shonen by Chris Hart. I looked through it a bit, and focussed mainly on the head section for now. After looking on the Zelda Wiki for her concept art (mainly for necklace and headband), I finished the sketch. C+C on this too.

Toon Nayru

I know her right hand (our left) is goofed up. You can blame my leaky ink pen for that, since I had to redo it on the computer. Either way, Kindly comment and critique on this one please. I'm very new to the "Toon" style, but I like how this turned out.

Haha. Had this concept for awhile, and I wanted to practice my Manga again, so here. I told ChaosEmerald2 about the concept, and we came up with a story and a few lines of dialogue describing the pic.

Farore: EEP! I-is that...?
Nayru: I found him over on the dresser. I think he's kinda cute at this size...
Din: ...I wonder if he's spicy...

It looks pretty good, but I don't remember the Master Sword being so small.

It's the Kokiri Sword.

I think your anatomy needs work, his legs look ultra tiny :x


Legs are supposed to be *about* twice the size of the torso, it looks here like you made them exactly the same size, so he looks kinda like an ogre :B

No, practice makes permanant, if you practice the wrong way it'll stay like that for a long time.

But thanks for the comments. I had a Nayru sketch that I would have posted, but I then saw that I did the outfit wrong. So I'll make a new one!

Ann is actually right.
I checked some official art and the Kokiri Sword is actually the entire length of Young Link's Torso.

The Nayru sketch looks pretty good as far as sketches go, but she seems kind of masculine. I think it's mostly the sideburns and those Zs on her cheeks.

You should probably plan out the body before drawing, the way you drew him makes him look like his head is the main part of the figure and the body's just dangling from it
