Aren't you all just angry that his entry was pixel art to begin with, then you tell him to add animation to make it sprite worthy, which he does do, then you still try to penalize him. Stop changing your definition of sprite because your mad that his entry blows a lot of peoples out of the water.

There are games that use front facing enemies, Pokemon is one, The Mother series does the same as well. They are still considered sprites, so don't go saying his can't be used in any way. You're the ones who are being stubborn.

You have a really good box, just not a torpedo ted.

If this was directed toward me partially, then read the thread more carefully, because I'm saying I think it should be allowed now, although I was the main person saying he should animate it originally.

Des, your entry looks like it'd be good for an avatar, or on the of title screen of a minigame.

It's pixelart, but might as well make it an elligible piece because you actually took my word and made an effort to animate it. Next time try to make sprites, because I doubt anybody else will qualify your entry as elligible (hypothetically speaking).

Now everybody just stop arguing about this.

alright i think i solved my problem

i can have him drop down facing the front then turn and shoot to the right/left.

problem: his front pose is larger than his left/right pose legnth

Trust me, if I knew I'd cause this much commotion, i would've just made a sprite, which I am more than capable of doing.

Update

I think people just like to find loopholes in the rules. When people say "make a mario game sprite" they mean side on, small and animated. For a Mario game. If they were to specify "make a pokemon battle pose sprite" they'd know it had to be front on or something.
