I'm just on a roll here. Of course it's all on deaf ears because NO ONE uses click products anymore.

I was upset with the lack of a good graphical grid extension for MMF2. Background System Objects usually work quite well, but not when the cell size needs to be dynamic. This extension will let you specify the vertical line, horizontal line, and intersection components of a grid separately as images, so you still have artistic freedom with a cell size that can be changed at run time.

It's my first graphical extension, so issues are possible.

This could be extremely useful to me, as the background image object needs thick lines or they will be resized away. I'll check it out once I get home!

See that would be completely unacceptable to me, which is why my solution for Tile Lattice right now was to manage dozens of line objects and build the grid. It's slow and ugly and restrictive, but at least sharp. But this extension should solve all of that quite elegantly.

Setting any of the cell sizes to 0 crashes the application (division by zero I assume since negative numbers doesn't). Not a huge flaw but someone might mention it sooner or earlier.

After using it for a while, my conclusion is this: easy, simple yet powerful and useful extension. Love it. Has all the features I need plus a few that I didn't, but due to them being displayed I now do. Keep it up!

I've updated the object to support several more things:
- X/Y origin offsets
- Optional line display type (plus ability to change line color and weight)
- +/- Slope Lines for the line display type, so you can have isometric or oblique grids as well. The degree of slope is determined by the ratio of the cell width and height.

http://hocuspocus.taloncrossing.com/rii/dyngrid-dist.zip [Updated object]

You will almost certainly need to delete any old dynamic grid objects from your frames before replacing the object. If you forget to do this and your application crashes when you open it, the original file is available at http://hocuspocus.taloncrossing.com/rii/dyngrid-v1.zip

Why is this needed btw?

The new update is pretty sweet, but why aren't the intersections not available for lines?

I prefer lines over images as I can change their color at runtime.

No one uses Click products anymore?! I still use the Games Factory. tongue.gif Hasn't let me down yet.

As for the topic at hand, if I had downloaded Multimedia Fusion, I would have tried this out myself to see what it entails.

This was by request of another Click user.

Intersections can't be managed by by the line settings so it made sense to just exclude them.
