Ideal P2P: large amount of content ready, free updates competent GMs and a good game.
This however, never happens.

It's just a disgusting practice to me, and I tend to avoid games with it.

that

also games with a periodic subscription fee (read: most muhmorpeggers) are dumb as well

All that Item 2 stuff in Gunbound is quite ridiculous, I agree, but it's easy to reciprocate the damage or avoid it once you get a stock pile of the same items (if you go through the tutorial levels, you will receive tons of free items).

@ lif:
Especially since they're run like ****.

I don't think I can name a single corporate run mmorpg without **** for brains GMs and a disgusting userbase.

The only ideal mmo that you can play is EVE online. And that game is boring as **** if you can't appreciate space sims.

All of those things hold true for WoW...

Active GMs who will help you

****loads of content

Free updates (that occur really often, they patch once a week, and add large content in every month or so)

And I like it, making it a good game from my view

however it is not a "good game" making any logical "and string" that relies on it being a "good game" false

My brother was a fan of this stick arena game. He waited a few months for the sequel, and he was really interested in the new weapons. But you had to pay. A low quality free game, you don't even download it, and you have to pay for some weapons the barely work any differently.

If your going to pay extra money for something, at least make it worth it.

As a gamer?

Stupidest idea I've ever heard.

As a future game developer?

Most brilliant idea ever.

If games have things you can buy, but can go without, I avoid it. Mind you, I have not played any pay-to-play games yet though, but even still, if I can still enjoy the game without the extra stuff, then I don't bother with it.
