Post games but different developers and ask yourself and others if you would have played it.


If Microsoft had made The Legend of Zelda, would you have played it?
Probably not since I don't think they'd develop it like Nintendo did. In the end, it'd probably all be guns so yeah, no.

Microsoft don't add guns to everything.

In fact tbh they don't really develop any games at all - they hire out first parties to do the work for them, so you real questions would be "What if Rare made Mario" or "What if Bungine made Mario"

if it were the former in Rare's glory years, it would probably be better than Nintendo's offerings. Now... perhaps not quite as good. Probably because they'd struggle spicing it up graphically for the 360 and it could end up looking a bit dodgy. Bungie haven't really made anything other than FPS games so it could go either way.



If Nintendo made Sonic they'd probably release something cool but not quite as cool as Sonic 3K. Something that might fall in between Sonic 1 and Sonic 2. 2.5D perhaps.

By "falling in between S1 and S2" they'd probably scrap everyone but Sonic and not have Super Sonic available to the end, but they'd still deliever nice looking levels and music.

If the Banjo Team at Rare had made a Mario game for the N64, that would have been freakishly awesome.

If Nintendo made ADOM would I play? Probably not...

If Bungie made Half Life and Valve made Halo...

Tough one because Half Life has such an excellent story, Bungie would give it great online play but it would have boring and formulaic level design.

Valve would take Halo and make it a really long and well told story, the environments would be awesome, and the level design would be excellent.

I'd probably play Halo more if Valve had made it. Mainly because I love valve to death...

Video game companies all have tendencies, Valve works hard and makes polished games, Bungie puts alot of shine into their graphics and their games appeal to the masses, nintendo is really good at making platforming etc.

Ironically that you speak of Valve not making really linear levels for Half Life, because I thought the first one got a tad boring after a while because the levels were all the same

I would LOVE IT. There would be more talking character, the worlds would be bigger kind of, and Mario would probably have some cooler moves.
