Watchmen

I really liked it, though I think... Spoilers:

The sex scene was totally unnecessary, at least the way it was filmed. It was almost a porno. I didn't mind Dr. Manhattan's *****. I have one of my own, so I don't really find that offensive. Soundtrack was good. Rorschach was freaking awesome. Oh my gosh, one of my new favorite comic book characters.

I haven't seen Watchmen yet.

Skip the movie, read the book.

The movie's good and all but it takes a lot of character away from the overall plot and the characters themselves. Ozymandias is flat as hell in the movie, for example.

admittedly the movie is easier to get through though, I remember having trouble sticking through Watchmen the first time I read it- the movie remains interesting the whole way through, even if it is jumpy as hell and nearly every line is some epic quote

of course!

Though like I pointed out, the book has the added bonus of the artist having deliberately simplified his junk to make it less noticeable, something the movie couldn't get away with.

Naked women appear and movies all the time, yet you throw in one ***** and the world can't deal with it.

The movie didn't make sense of why Dr. Manhattan is naked.

Does it have to?

He's blue, he can explode people, and he can teleport.


He can do whatever the hell he wants. Who's going to tell him otherwise?

the book explains that he starts wearing less and less to emphasize his further de-connection with humanity- the less he wears the less he cares about people

I enjoy moral absolutism in my comic book characters, thank you very much. I like The Question as well, at least his earlier incarnation.

Also, Nite Owl and Silk Spectre (I believe they're both II) suck. Seriously.

Silk Specter is just the hot chick they needed to bang Nite Owl. But I would have to disagree, Nite Owl was the only character that showed and development.

But even without that in the movie, one can just assume he likes to free willy and no one has the guts to tell him to put on some pants
