I never said to make a new one. I just said to replace Zelda with one of the Oracles, or Marin, or Saria, or some other girl from the series. Zelda can be a major character in the plot sure, but make someone else the damsel. Know what I'm saying?

Does it need to have a damsel in distress in general? I mean, a story can run as easy without one.

You had to collect 8 Crystal esque things in both Oracle games.

That's what I want to do away with because it's been done in every Zelda game and is now well overdone. Sick of every Zelda game NEEDING the standard water, fire, forest etc temples.

What do you suppose goes in their place? Space Temple?

Forget temples, i'd like to see Zelda take a cue from something like Elder Scrolls: Oblivion. A big seamless world where you know you have a set quest, but how you get to the end is more your choice instead of the overdone "Link, get this, and this and this, and when you're done i've got another 7 of these for you to find.

I think temples are to Zelda what mushrooms are to Mario.
It's a part of the game that makes it Zelda.

Zelda is no different than Mario in my view when it comes to the princesses.

Some Times Zelda and Peach are captured, sometimes they aren't. Both series have enough strength behind them to make good games no matter what the plot entails.

I dressed up as him for halloween last year and that's what people thought.

ANYWAY.

ChaosEmerl: I know she did, I mentioned that later on in the topic. But Din and Nayru were the main DIDs.

Good point with the temples, but still, you kinda did that in the original. How did we get on that anyway?

And furthermore, I'm going to attach a poll for people's opinions.

THIS

I mean, since when is a damsel in distress even NEEDED? Ditch that noise and give us a more compelling story, Nintendo.

...And no, that doesn't mean switching the idea to gentleman in distress, like in Super Princess Peach.

I'm fine as long as it has that Zelda feel.
