Believe it or not I've been on computers with 256 MB of RAM and way more MHz than this that run slower than this Acer Extensa 390 Laptop. Probably because my computer isn't full of garbage and I gutted XP with nLite. And yes, everything I have in my notification area is necessary. Internet, Safely Remove Hardware, Anti Virus, Sound, Laptop Power, and Firewall.

EDIT: Video card is 2MB.

Oh and my CMOS battery is faulty too so every day I have to drain the power then plug it into the wall so I can redo my BIOS settings and enable USB support. cool2.gif

EDIT: Faulty is not the right word. I mean geez, the computer's over a decade old. No wonder the CMOS battery is dead.
