Which is why you also need dedication to make a game. Switching to C++ will help with size, because AFAIK, Game Maker doesn't compress the Resources, and more than likely increases their size. With external resources, you can compress them as much as you want.

Uhhhh I'm just making a guess here

Game Maker pretty much absorbs the files into itself when you make a game

It doesn't really use directories, which is pretty much why the files are big

I'm not sure if C++ does the same thing, but I know C++ can use directories and if you use those you have to include every single file you're using with the game/application/toaster you're making

Compression can be done with zips and rars and hydraulic presses just as much with Game Maker games as it is with C++ applications

Essentially it is not going to make an astronomical difference in overall folder size

But this is all just a guess I've been making for the last day

No, I said Mastering C++ is much harder, but it makes you a Pro. Using only ASM... that's stupid. Sanity should tell you not to use only ASM, unless you're a super-oldbie who loves the old languages, but then you'd probably say that you aren't PRO until you use Machine Code. Not sure if you're saying that THEY will call me lazy for using SFML, or if YOU are calling me lazy.

Stop acting like C++ is practically the language of God Almighty Himself's choice it's really irritating

Falcon Punch is the result of the Sun heating fists. It drives the Blue Falcon. Heating causes destruction of water into the pain, where it then hurts, creating rain. Rain creates flowing water in tears, which can then be converted into other forms through more pain.

Game Maker has all the files absorbed with a large Resource List pointing to each file, resulting in larger EXEs. Also, Game Maker stores some unneeded information in the files, which makes them bigger as well. If you use External Files, you can actually choose the Compression Level, and possibly design your own formats, which might result in tiny files.

There is no "better" way to make a game - they're just different, and their differences balance each other out.

And no, C# is .NET. C++ is not, and Visual C++ is merely a program made by Microsoft to compile C++.

Also, there is a C++ alternative to GM being made called ENIGMA, although it's still in alpha.
