I also think I'll be an asshole and mention that all 3 Advanced games are all filled with pits of death.

Those pits are one of the reasons I just don't like Sonic Advance 2, despite the amount of praise for it: Far too many of them, and you're likely to be going at a speed that renders you too slow to react in time.

I personally hate Sonic Advance 2.

Advance 1 was the best, 3 was ok. Battle was terrible.

I've always been an oldschool Sonic guy though so eh

Not true, Mystic Cave's Act 2 has a really nasty pit that gets everyone if they don't grab a switch while they jump

whole ****ing pit of spikes with no way out FFFFFFFFFFFFF

It's even funnier when you're Super Sonic and you have to ****ing wait to die. It's really like a slap in the face.

It's not the amount of instant death pits, but how much space they take away from the level. In the 2D Sonics they're fine because you only need to jump, ride a platform, or use a stage's gimmick to get over them, plus you moved slow enough most of the time to notice an edge. In the 3D Sonics? You now have a whole new dimension to worry about. For example: Skyscraper Scamper Act 1 Day. If it was like an actual city like in Sonic Adventure, that one turn at the begining wouldn't be so bad because you'd just run into a building. In Unleased, however, you go flying off it you don't turn soon or later enough. The old Sonics never did something where you had to skid to avoid falling into the pits that often, excuding the sky levels.

Well of course the 2D Sonics never had you worrying about turning at the right time.

There were only two dimensions.

It doesn't take that much skill to time your turns appropriately in Sonic Unleashed.

And Sonic 3 w/ Knux: FLYING BATTERY ZONE/HILL TOP ZONE/ some others.

Hill Top Zone is not in Sonic 3, it's in Sonic 2. :P

PS NOTHING BEATS THE DEAD END WITH THE ROTATING DRUMS IN ACT 2 OF CARNIVAL NIGHT

I was stuck there for years. Not so much the instant death as being trapped.

Which is why I didn't include Sonic 1 and S&K wink.gif

Hell it's possible to fall up a pit in S&K.

Oh, i wasn't really disagreeing with you.

Just adding info. on the matter.

@SonicProject: God knows why I said Sonic 3. I pretty much don't play Sonic 2 with Sonic or Tails.

As if there weren't enough complaining I'll point out that these stages and such are apparently from the Japanese PS3 release.

Seems kinda lame and lowers my hopes for them doing any big things like alternate character skins and such, but at least it's not like Viva Pińata and SONIC THE HEDGEHOG (06) where the DLC was really just unlocking stuff already stored on the disc.

The patch is from the Jap release, but the levels are new.
