Sort of like holding a big puppy, but you have to be firmer with them or they'll try to climb up your face. On the other hand they don't try to kick their way out of your grip like a dog would. Their fur is also coarser than most dogs' fur.

Anyway, it was quite a remarkable and rare opportunity. At first I thought the Mass Wildlife guys were going to be assholes and tell us to stay inside the whole time, but once the mother was knocked out they were very nice about letting us come over and actually encouraged us to hold the cubs for a couple minutes. Understandably they don't want to draw attention to what they're doing, but they let the property owners be more involved in the process.
