I understand though, a lot of people didn't like it because of the camera and stuff. although, the environments were pretty cool imo.

what annoyed me about SMS was how all the environments were the same. it would've been cooler if they even added in some variations in level design, such as maybe a cave under a beach filled with ice or something. (it's mario, it isn't supposed to make sense)

then again, I really enjoyed that one haunted hotel level, felt fresh and new compared to the other levels which were basically the same thing all over again. hated the boss though.
